While we are on the subject of Windows 10, I have tried 5 times to upgrade to 10 but can not get it to recognize my printer (HP2540) in wireless mode, so have gone back to Windows 7. I`ve got it to work via the wired set-up. Can anybody tell me what I`m doing wrong ?

I thought it was in Cambridge, most cyclists ignore red lights and then wonder why drivers get so pissed off with them.

Sorry haven`t got a clue but somebody will come along and tell you what you need to know. Or you could leave a message in the"messages for users" section on here. Pete.

Got taken to A&E last night with pain in my shoulders and my hands were shaking so much I couldn`t hold a cup (suspected Parkinsons). The two paramedics who turned up to check me out  insisted I go to hospital. Spent a couple of hours waiting to see a Doctor, various things could be causing my problem from the mentioned Parkinsons to a mini stroke and everything in-between. All the Staff were brilliant from the Porters to the Doctors, always had great service from everybody involved. Did notice lot of older people being pushed around in wheelchairs or on trollies and came to the conclusion that lots of them were well enough to go home but had nobody at home to look after them. so were blocking up the system, so much for care in the community.

Just had a phone call from the hospital and got an appointment at the "Minor Stroke Clinic" on Tuesday.

Showing my age now --- can remember seeing the race on the telly also saw him race live at Mallory way back. Got the thumbs-up from him at Donnington at the end of the classic race in 1992 (I think) Within a year Cancer got him R.I.P.

I have an Optimate charger and that needs a load on it to operate properly I should think the optimiser is the same, put a meter across the connectors with no load on it and no voltage is being put out by the charger. Connect the charger to the battery, set your multimeter to Volts DC then put it across the battery terminals, should show around 13/14 volts.

Only problem with getting a boat 10ft wide is that if you intend to cruise the canals a lot of the locks only take boats up to 8ft wide.

Not sure but if IMRC when I went over to BT a few years ago they told me it could (for some reason) take a few days for everything to settle down and get up to speed. So if you have recently gone on to BT that could be the problem.

Was seriously considering living on a Narrow boat when  retired but that idea got scuppered when I found I had a chronic heart condition and have to have blood tests every month or so. Quite liked the thought of moving around the country on the canals!

Done 25+ years on Nights. Social life---- forget it, didn`t do my marriage any favours either but retired now so I`m happy. Wouldn`t recommend it though.

Were the new plain plates covered with anything to stop them corroding before they were fitted? Perhaps they need cleaning off to stop them sticking.

May have one cell gone down on the battery. Charge it up then test the voltage, leave it for a few hours and check the voltage again. If it`s dropped a significant amount your battery is more than likely focced.   :rolleyes
