Cheers guys, I guess that £25 will go to the pub with me instead then I couldn't be doing with one of those tall tourer screens for the bit of riding I do, they're hideous.

Anyone have one fitted? Do they make much difference to buffeting and wind noise? Do they look ok?

I find shitfing money between my halifax accounts is instant, cheques still take a week though but they show up straight away, takes about 10 seconds to pay my credit card as well through fastpay.

Original can doesn't have a link pipe, it's one piece, thats why aftermarket cans tend to come with them if model specific.

I'm surprised they are still happy to foot the bill on a 12 year old bike but very good news indeed, is it because the service history checks out? I have no service history with mine so I assume it's either not been done or not done at a dealership so I'd probably be stuffed.

Wether anyone agrees or not makes no odds realy, you are still stuck with it. What does the restrictor kit consist of? A guy I work with had a CBF500 with restrictor kit, all it consisted of was a little bracket on the side of the carbs stopping the throttle from opening fully and 2 different length screws, cost him £180 for it!! I guess you pay more for the certificate and frame sticker than you do the kit but without you aint licenced or insured, I was amazed he never took it off early as I know I would of done. As for mileage if you've covered a million miles on a learner legal 125 an FZS600 is still going to take a bit of getting used to, for a so-called budget de-tuned commuter/tourer they are pretty bloody impressive once you get them revving. Oh the joys of being an old git when you could get home from your test, park up the 125, and take your z650 for a good thrash...(mind you I used to do that before the test , and the 125 was a 200 with different badges and logbook )

Check the total thickness of the nut, if 9mm change it, if 12mm leave it, the nut/washer kit is about £8, p/n is 90891-10124, it's cheaper than finding out after it's focced the gearshaft.

I've always found clothing of any kind that's been properly stored in a floor mounted pile is ready to wear straight from the heap.

Was there not a trick of cutting the front mudguard down to cure the middle pot problem? I'm sure it was an airflow thing, I am happy to be corrected on this.. I have a couple of Z650's if you fancy a project, ones a trailie...

Just my personal opinion, I don't expect anyone else to put their name to it. Bet I'm not alone though... I have no issue with traditional gypsies, I have great respect for their way of life, it's the parasitic bastards that use the law when it suits them and ignore it when theres a quid to be made from us tax payers or anyone that has the nerve to leave copper pipes on the outside of their house, or lead on their church roofs, they are the ones I call pikeys, not proper gypsies that travel to follow the seasonal work available. Lets liven this thread up and jump to the defence of pikeys, orderly queue please...

I've seen and heard a small pulsejet running and it's ear splitting, they get white hot in seconds, that thing must be lethal..... ......But fun. (briefly) Downside is valved pulsejets are very unreliable as the reed valves work so fast under so much pressure. Who's going to try and get an insurance quote then?

Back on the sprocket nut issue again, has anyone had it happen while still on the original factory fitted chain and sprockets or is it only after replacement that it goes tit up? I have to admit to never using a torque wrench on a sprocket nut before, in fact usually swinging on the biggest bar to hand while stomping on the rear brake (and I'm supposed to be an aircraft grease monkey).

Also measure the thickness of the sprocket nut, if only 9mm invest £8 in a new nut and washer (p/n 90891-10124), the new nut is thicker and less likely to come loose and bugger the gearshaft as others have found.

Some of the breathable fabrics are better washed with soap flakes instead of detergent, I think detergents tend to mess up the waterproofing.

How about: I am entitled to the information cos I don't like paying through the nose for insurance and tax while a bunch of theiving bastard pikeys get away with under the nose of the old bill just because it's too much hassle to assume the same level of justice applies to them as it does me.
I may have suffered a slight PC glitch...
