think it was 70 in a 30 but he said he would let me off with 3 points and fine :o not looking good is it :'(

imo - thats worse than 100 in a 70.

you could use this is precedence - they gave you 3 points and fine for 40mph over speed limit, why not for 30(ish) over limit

Put your year of bike on here (i noticed there's a couple to choose from) and look at crankcase 1 category.

Cheers darrsi - but that shows me the same diagram I already have - with 2 bolts and 2 dowels.

mine has 5 bolts holding it on

FZS600 Fazer / [SOLVED] Front Sprocket cover bolts
« on: 08 August 2014, 02:58:47 pm »
Guys,

Getting a little confused.

Short story : commuting home from work, gear lever refused to changed gears (mega stiff) and clutch lever had a lot of excess play)

got home and tightened up the cable (at the locking nut mechanism). I also took the front sprocket cover off to make sure everything was ok (wee bit of spring clean and a bit of lube)

but - i noticed a couple of bolts were missing.

Checked the PDF (I have a FZS 600 Foxeye Year 2003 - guide indicates 2002) and the parts catalog indicates that there should be 2 bolts and a Dowel. Was there a change between 2003 and 2002?

Page 15 of the PDF guide (Cover / Crankcase)

or am I needing new eyes?

Just looking for the bolt sizes to get some new ones.

Whenn I spoke to my insurance company I mentioned I'd contacted the police and been told something along the lines of drivers on the main roads have right of way and the onus is on the car coming out to make sure it's clear.

The insurance said police aren't the ones who decide who's at fault. Everything I've read seems to say the biker should be ready to stop, what's annoying me is that I did but can't proove it.

you can always say you were READY to stop.......if you didnt come to a full stop to avoid the accident, thats a completely different scenario. (only read 2 pages so dont know if someone else pointed that out.

im with others - carpulling out MUST give right of way - sounds like she didnt even bother looking right

I wish new people would read the rules before posting on the intro section.

It clearly says that when posting your intro thread multiple pictures of your bike and woman must be added.

Oh and welcome  ;) :lol

I never posted a pic of a woman when I joined.

Will this do?

Lucky bugger! I would dearly love to go, definitely high on my tick list. Not for a while yet though unfortunately. What are the dates? Be sure to bring back plenty of piccies!

Were going over on the race day, Saturday 17th May....coming back on late Sunday so we can get a trip out, giants causeway etc

Top Tip BBB

Dont park at the car park next to the Giants Causeway - they charge you, even for bikes.

Just down the hill, past the entrance to the Giants Causeway there is a Steam Train station with Free parking and a small Cafe (they'll even look after your helmets for you). Only a short walk up the hill from there.

Also, you dont need to pay for the Giants causeway - dont go into the Reception/Gift shop - walk up the side and you can get access over the top of the reception and walk right over to where the sightseeing buses are - you can either hop on one of them or walk down the road.

Tell her not to worry, I resisted the urge to chop it down.  Just carved my name in it instead. 8)

Tastefully I hope, italics and everything.

I've only cut one tree down with an axe, an elder to put up a fence. Bastard thing still keeps shooting though despite the copious amounts of stump killer, salt and explosives. Think I'll have to get my boss over with his tractor.

drill holes in it and fill it with creosote.

chopping down 20 foot+ trees doesnt make you a man.

Chopping down 20+ foot trees AND digging out the stumps makes you a man :Z

depends if the sidestand itself is buggered, or if just the spring has clapped out.

changing the spring - easy enough.....as long as you have a replacement spring.

do the bolts turn at all, or do they just spin?

if they don't turn - maybe a little penetrating fluid in to see if that would loosen it.

Only 14.5k miles...ive never had a pillion & it didnt crash on that side, actually no damage on the other side either....just the usual really so could do with a quick clean up when off the bike...obviously id give a quick clean off but it wont be mirror clean or owt.

Yours for a mere £10 plus postage if you want it.lets say £3.50 postage at a pure guess.
