I was camping at Donny for WSB, and was amazed at the lack of security. Was never challenged for the camp site wrist band or track entry tickets. They did the same tannoy announcement at Brands as they did at Donny, regarding texting some number if any suspicious activity is noticed. I figured that the biking fraternity would not sit back and watch any just stop oil shenanigans, like the tennis and snooker, and would be quite capable of protecting our own event.
This is right. They do seem to pick their targets carefully. They got a taste of their own medicine when someone realeased helium balloons with rape alarms to float up to the ceiling of their nice vegan banqueting Hall meal celebrating their recent campaigns.

They don't like it up em !

Been thinking what would I do faced with one of their demonstrations blocking the road. Wouldn't take the chance on riding through as they all have cameras so I can be done for dangerous driving.

So what about filtering to the front turning the ignition off and taking the keys out and pushing the bike through them then once safely past jump on and off I go. Problem is now they have stopped gluing themselves to the road and instead are slow walking and my plan relys on me being able to push my bike faster than they can walk  :lol

Here the license plate is exclusive to the vehicle. If we buy or sell a vehicle the plate comes or goes with it. The Oldtimer plate can be requested if the vehicle is in good and original condition, and goes through a special "vintage MOT". Then it  gets the new plate, the tax will be lower, the MOT is once in every 5 years. The value of the vehicle is higher on the market. It is not a junkyard refugee anymore, the people seems to appreciate it usually. You know, it's not an old junk on the road anymore, instead a valuable museum piece, haha... or something along these lines...
I see, I like the idea of a special "vintage" MOT then every 5 years. I guess the vintage mot is to first check that it is kept in mint condition and its not just old and knackered before they let you go to every 5 years. And a mint collectors piece is likly to be ridden less so you get cheaper tax. So where in the world are you.

OT-xxxx"-type license plate
OLD TIMER reg plate, sounds like the opposite of our "L" plate.
Or is the plate also your tax, like USA or whatever they do.

They look to me to be engine casing type bolts, sprocket cover ? If you have ended up with them because you mixed up your own bolts for ones that came off the bike then the slightly worrying thing is that they are different lengths for a reason and your bolts will not be the same length --- shorter or longer than they should be.

Yes all fair points I guess but I will be 82 by then so unlikely to still be riding!
Well I like to think I will still be riding then.

My insurance through Ageas is called "Future Classic Vintage" but maybe we have to go another 10 years to match the RD. Perhaps to be a classic part of it is how rare they are ?
My bike is May 1998 we had a thing a few years ago to find the oldest fazer and if \I remember right it was mine - by a few days. I think the bike in the UK was released in May ?. Although I brought it 3 years later.

how does one find out when their bike was made/registered? ive a 98 too
Its on your registration documents -- V5 it will state first registered. Or look at the date on your receipt from when you brought it  :lol

I think the trick is to buy glasses just for the bike (helmet )
I am a glasses wearer for driving but do not need varifocals but I buy mine from glasses direct they send you 4 pairs to try at home at a time so I can try with my helmet on. No good so send back and try another 4. What's good is that they are so cheap I can buy a pair just for the bike so I am not buying them to also suit me day to day so it does not matter what they look like so long as they are good with the helmet. I find that rimless ones with a very thin arm that can slip between my head and the sponge are  the best ones. The ones I have are actually women's ones but fit the helmet perfectly.
I find a stiff arm makes the glasses sit wrong with my helmet
Theses are mine, very thin arms that are also comfortable and do not press on the head and very good preferal vision due to no frame
These may not be much use with varifocals though as said you need a big lens to get the two distances in.

I will not put e10 in my 25 year old bike i do not care if I am told it is safe and effective  ;)
Any future issues ‐ how can I prove it was the e10 and who is going to compensate me. I will trust my instincts again on this me thinks

More internet scare mongering  :rolleyes bit like if you travel at over 20mph the air will be sucked out of your lungs, which was once banded about by scare mongers   :rolleyes

Yesterday I pulled out my XJR1300 and my X10 both are filled with E10, both haven't been run since Oct last year, not even started, both started first prod.  I see bikes week in week out that are run on E10 and have done so since it was introduced into the UK, I've yet to see any having issues with anything.  Good friends of mine also in the trade in France, Belgium, Germany and Italy where E10 petrol has been used for something like 10 years and is the only type available, haven't reported any issues either.  The issue is not engine/performance related in any case, it's fuel system seals and hoses. Basically most vehicles before the mid 80's/early 90's didn't have seals/hoses that can work with more than 5% ethanol without starting to degrade.

Most Jap manufactures can use E10 fuel from early 90's on nearly all models, the exception is Kawasaki who have problems with most of their range pre mid 20's and these must be run on E5 or have their fuel systems up graded.  Lord knows why they didn't follow the others.

All Yams since 1990 can use E10, use it or don't, just stop scare mongering.
You are reading things that are not there, how can I be scare mongering when I have not given an exact reason as to why I do not use it.  :rolleyes

I use it in all my bikes without issue, but would not be leaving them idle for more than a month without using an additive.
I was nervous at first but had no choice at the start as I needed fuel and there was nothing else available.
The 600 and 1000 are still on their first day O Rings in the carbs

I frequently leave my bike for 2 -8 weeks between rides. And mostly use the 99oct it in my 16 plate car, and I am sure I get more mpg than when I use e10

Another one here who has only ridden an FZS600 boxeye - the same bike for the last 22 years in fact. Although I have had other bikes before. I have thought about getting the 1000 a few times but every time I come to the same conclusion, I don't take luggage or pillion, I don't tour, I dont ride at night, the 600 fits my weight and build perfectly I have no interest in going fast in a straight line which as I see it is the only thing a 1000 would do for me. Also I believe the DIY maintenance is easier on the 600 ??
So without any other experience my vote go's to the FZS600 -- and the black one --- it has to be black.

Do you have to put a thin bit of wood in between the pistons, otherwise is there a possibility of the pistons compleatly popping out.

The actual spin is that they are being paused until 5 years of data has been gathered . Others that are almost compleate will be still be finished.
No matter as I will not be riding or driving in any of them along with many other free thinking folk who do not belive the (any government) crap, who told us they were a safe and effective ways of expanding capacity.
