If you want to make the 600 go faster then learn how to ride it --if you want to go faster in a straight line then get the 1000 but be prepared for the 600 to be all over you on the bends

I know nothing about medicine but I would of thought that as you had been taking it for almost 2 weeks then you would have had an "episode" earlier in the course. That not see before bloke in your local sounds suspicious, its a shame that CTV footage has been wiped, but there may be a way to retrieve it, I belive the way digital media is wiped is by just making space available and the original is still there - or something like that.   :book

Although I do not condone such behaviour I have always thought it odd that you can be done for not having proper control of your bike if you are caught pulling wheelies when to pull a wheelie takes a lot of control of your bike - does it not  :lurk

Actually they are perfectly safe for riding - its crashing when they are not safe :lol
It actually might start the conversation how bike gear is considered fashion and not protection and is therefore subject to VAT

Something though, could it of been the cold that saved you. I guess that you already know about all of this though.
Hypothermia has been used for many years to treat people who have had a severe brain injury. This involves cooling the head or the whole body to a temperature below normal body temperature.21 Sept 2017

Tyres are like baby nappies - have you noticed how the new ones are dryer than the old (cheaper) ones - are they saying the old ones were crap ( forgive the pun ) same with bike tyres "our most grippyest yet out performs this or that - so you are saying your old cheaper ones were crap then  :rolleyes I went for the metzler ones precisely because they did not last as long as others. :D

Hello everybody, unsure how to use this site so hopefully i’m doing it right but ported the cylinder heads out and milled it so that 99 octane fuel can now be used to my advantage for extra power on the 600 (engine was already out replacing the 2nd gear shift fork) :) however this does mean regular fuel will cause detonation so premium only from now on yay
Eh ?
Never heard anyone doing that on here

When you read the blurb - they all sound the same - re grip in wet and grip in dry - cornering,  but some are more suited to touring - longer lasting maybe.

Sounds like my riding - no commuting either for me, don't get out as often as I like which can mean that the tyres are old before they are worn so I opted for these last time

It was MOT day last Friday for the Speed Triple, passing with no advisories fortunately. She’ll be able to celebrate her 30th birthday at the weekend with a whizz down to Whitstable, providing the weather plays ball.

General / Re: Insurance renewal - WTF!!!!!
« on: 14 February 2024, 04:01:56 pm »
Not looking forward to renewal then I know my car insurance shot up and took a lot of hassle to get it down still a massive hike tho, they claim repair costs have tripled due to parts supply issues etc.

Blatant rip off most of us are doing less miles in older less valuable vehicles yet they want vastly increased premiums!

Time for a public enquiry or a radical rethink as this is getting to breaking point, and don't start me on EV's looked into that in case my employer ever wakes up and offers a lease scheme the insurance on even a run of the mill EV is more than double my diesel car.

If the government are serious about switching to electric stupid issues like this need fixing
Well said

Mine last year was I think the minimum cost to cover the paperwork. Not looking forward to this years then. You know when you were younger under 25 and each year the insurance was cheaper cause of your age - so is there a point where your age go's against you I wonder.

General / Re: Finding gloves that will fit: harder than usual?
« on: 23 January 2024, 11:01:19 pm »
I brought a pair of Alpine stars GP something or other - summer gloves and I am a medium all day long in everything but I had to take the medium back and swap for a large, which I have to say are a perfect fit for me. I sat for hours with the medium clenching my fist trying to see if they would bed in a bit but nah, put the L on and straight away a good fit.

Nothing very exciting. Had to use the Fazer to get to Wickes for a few items to finish off project “change all the doors in the house”, as my car isn’t ULEZ compliant. Started on the button after a few months slumber, but won’t make this a habit as cold water washing it, in case of any salt on the road, wasn’t that pleasant in the current temperatures.
How id you get the doors on the bike.

« on: 21 January 2024, 12:04:03 pm »
Its a pet hate of mine -- DLR iights stupid stupid idea. Before them a biker riding with lights on in the daylight you could spot them a mile off and you knew it was a bike ( or a volvo ) but now my pissy headlight is lost amid a sea of car DLR lights making it hard for someone pulling out or turning right to see me actually riding a long way in front of that sea of ever - wildly fancy shapes of bright daylight running lights. Not to mention the even more pointless whole car width of white strip light across the front and fancy dancing indicators. This is why I muted a colour headlight light for bikes so they can be easily differentiated from cars but people did not seem to like my idea of pink lights, problem is all other colours are not allowed.

Don't forget, we inherited these regulations on led lights, which were approved for use in the EU, prior to brexit - it's actually the EU's fault really  :lol .
And stupid DLR lights.

Is it just me that thinks they are far too bright
Yes I am constantly getting dazzled by them, Ive been meaning to check where there is a DfT rule how how bright there are allowed to be.
Where are the EU and their stupid laws when you need them.

Yes far too bright, I think I posted something similar some time ago. Its worse when you're stationery at traffic lights and the driver in front has his/her/their/whatever foot on the brake pedal the whole time. When they pull away, I can see fuck all, blinded by the light. I drive in the dark using a pair of those specially tinted glasses now, they make a good enough difference to take most of the glare out.
