Well so far a disappointing start if your an England fan, lets hope the other home nations can make a good start :\
Shocking scenes here, where are the riot police? My guess is that this crew in black t shirts are Russian military out on R&R . . .

That was more fun to watch than the football.
-
I'm a very happy England fan…..
Oh i goes you're talking football not Gods game rugby.
:finger aussies.
-
There's talk of disqualification if the violence continues, personally I think it should be automatic. They're turning cities into battle grounds.
-
I'm very happy to be an England fan , and in the stadium it was Russians climbing barriers and attacking families and disabled fans , also if i'm having a drink with my mates in a bar and some cunt throws a chair at me , i won't be turning the other cheek , it's typical lazy journalism and because its England it sells papers , hardly any mention of the trouble between Northern Ireland and the Polish .
-
I liked the fact the the Telegraph called our supporters "fans" and the Russian supporters "thugs" what shit writing as if our supporters are all goody two shoes.
-
I'm ashamed to be English hearing what's going on out in France. If I were Europe I would be hoping we vote Brexit!

:evil When's Scotland's opening game? :pokefun

Maybe that is just it, they hate us for wanting or even thinking of voting out and so are lashing out.

Well I have searched for trouble between N Ireland fans and Polish fans at this years Euros, unless I missed it , it did not happen.
English fans have always been trouble away from home , get a few pints down them and sadly a few gobshites kick off and that is all it takes. I reckon England and Russia will both be kicked out and banned for the next world cup as well. Honestly who reall gives a shite about international football anyway.

I heard it on the main ITN news , and have just googled it , also on BBC news Belfast Telegraph , and Daily Telegraph, the reports also mention French youths being involved .

It might be the wake up call the game needs to get some respect into the game. You only have to watch a premiership game on the TV and you will see how spoilt the players are thinking they can get away with anything on the pitch. This cascades down to the supporters and we get the mayhem.
IIRC, years ago, it was a gentleman's game and the players were well behaved on the pitch.
-
Sadly there are a very small number of Engs who probably for 90% of their life work and save hard to go to tournaments but when they get there have a few sherries and think they are Vinnie Jones...They aren't ..what they are is a puerile disgrace and they disgrace their fellow Countrymen with their infantile behaviour. How on earth can we decry someone getting a hearty slap in the mouth when they deserve it? Now the sad thing is that a number of genuine peaceful people have been and always will be caught up in the crossfire and this is where English football needs to be tougher than a French Magistrate..They should be prosecuting civil cases if needs be for demonstrable loss to reputation and enhanced policing costs..if this means that a feral wanker loses his house..tough luck.

:agree
It might work but then again, many of the trouble makers probably don't have a pot to piss in and spend half their time in the clink already so don't see it as a threat. Free bed and board looks good to some muppets.
-
When you are an England fan abroad there are certain formalities you must follow.
You must have a shaved head.
You must not wear a shirt.
You must at all times have a beer in your hand.
You must at all times hold both arms up in the air (except while drinking said beer)
You must sing racist and we won the war type songs at every opportunity when in sight of any Johnny Foreigners.
You must as often as practically possible, shout IN GER LUND while looking up at the sky. (works especially well while holding your arms up).
You must if questioned at all blame the Police and a mystery group of balaclava wearing activists.
You must book your ticket home to coincide with the final group stage match.

Speaking from experience there Locksmith: :pokefun
I guess its only a quick blast from the tunnel to Lille for you on Thursday then? :pokefun
-
Loverly jubbly !
Apart from all that I thoroughly enjoyed the Belgium/Italy game last night :thumbup
-
I didn't think Russia was in Europe, I hope they pay as much as we do. :b
-
:evil When's Scotland's opening game? :pokefun
Lol. :)
I can say only the best praise for Scotland's fans when they played Serbia in my city. It was winter, they cleaned the pitch off snow so the match doesn't get postponed, cheered very well, and went on to party, without violence and ruining anything after the match. Just loads of good positive energy.
-
Yes about that snow clearance..really must send the Bill
-

That was settled during the match - our team stopped after 2 goals. :)
-
To be fair, the Scots don't get to play international football very often, so it was probably a treat for them. And clearing snow before the game can start is the norm for home games :D
-
well good luck with the football tomz England fans, as you are playing the greatest nation yet. :D all abuse welcome as I am a rugby fan, also watch out for them Russians :evil

BB, it was and still is.............it's called Rugby :pokefun
-
Scotland seems to be in the process of putting a Rugby Team together. Give Strachan a couple more years and with the split hooves back in the top flight...reasonable to assume that the footie will follow.
-
Frosties - by years ago I meant the early 50's from what I recall seeing on the TV. Rugby has always been a thugs game played by gentlemen who respect the ref and the fans behave.
-
Decent match today, Hodgson's plan worked. Bringing on Sturridge and Vardy made all the difference. England and Wales at top of the table, it's entirely possible that they both can go through :thumbup
-
I am welsh and we are shit, but we gave them a run for there money for a country with 60 million to choose from against less than 2 mill. they done well. good show England,. :D
-
Bit like the Wenglanders playing England wasn't it?
-
the bath rugby team has 12 welsh players,. ;)

if we vote brexit on the 23rd we won't be in any further european tournemounts anyway so our opening games this year won't matter....
Not quite, we're voting to be out of the EU, not Europe. (ffs)

Wouldn't make a difference to us Scots then as we're never in the competition anyway :lol
-
looks like the wenglanders scored a few goals. ;)

-
Was happy for Ireland last night - they deserved a goal! :)
-
Scotsman walks into a pub. There should be an Englishman, a Welshman, an Irishman and an Ulsterman there...... but they're all off watching the Euros
-
I'm no expert on football, but after watching the England V Iceland game last night....why doesn't every team have a player trained to do really long throw-ins? :rolleyes
-

Now you can change that to....
A Scotsman, Englishman, Irishman and an Ulsterman were in a pub, there should of been a Welshman but he WAS STILL AT the Euros
:rollin :rollin :rollin
-
The Englishman is getting pissed and banging his head against the fruit machine

We had this guy at Tranmere Rovers, I remember Harry Rednapp being interviewed before a Worthington Cup game and Harry was asked if he was worried by the long throw in specialist Tranmere had, Harry said no as they have a plan in place to deal with it. First throw in bang Aldo scored 1-0 36 seconds on the clock. That was the year Martin O'Neills Leicester city beat Tranmere 2-1 in the final.
Would appear the lesson was forgotten by Woy
The central defender, who has played for Tranmere Rovers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tranmere_Rovers_F.C.) and Stockport County (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockport_County_F.C.), previously held the world record for the longest throw in football. This was 152 feet (46.34 meters) in a special challenge set-up at Prenton Park (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prenton_Park) in 1998, beating the previous record held by Cardiff City's Andy Legg (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Legg).[2] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Challinor#cite_note-2)[3] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Challinor#cite_note-3) When at Tranmere, he played in the 2000 Football League Cup Final (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_Football_League_Cup_Final).

the Welsh football team & manager are absolutely brilliant, the very best to all of them , I hope they make it to the final.
-
Possibly the most lacklustre tournament ever, it'll be a moo point whoever wins it, as the teams are extremely below par (not England, we're consistently shite) so it'll be nothing worth talking about in years to come, apart from the dickheads outside who further tarnished a few nations already bad reputations.
-
Well done Wales! :D

Well you may have a point , but hopefully it will stop us all hearing about the 1966 fucking world cup win!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes
Come on Wales give it all you got, hope you beat the Germans in the final if that is who you meet after sticking it to Portugal
-
just had a great day in cardiff watching all the footballer,s come home, i was working the other side of the road from the castle on a balcony just the same height as the open top bus, :D , the perfect spot free. 8) WALES WALES WALES.
-
Nice ....when the team come home it would be great to hear the same welcome as the Iceland crew got.....Woooo..clap clap..,,Wooo clap clap....brilliant ;-))
SOOOOOOO...well done WALES.....i feel proud....even as an englishman.....
-
sorry to piss on anyone's chips but all this fawning over a team that won fuck all (not a dig at Wales but GB in general)...... we need to stop bigging up losers or we'll stay a nation of losers
1st is 1st.....2nd is nowhere

And they weren't even 2nd......
-
but don't forget wales haven't got to this stage in over fifty years. with a population of 2,5 million, only one team in the prem league, it is a great feat. also our main game is rugby.
-
Very happy for the Portuguese. Deserved victory.
Hated the way French played the finals - deliberately injuring Ronaldo without even a foul given, then tried the same thing on Nani... tc tc tc....
-
Well I see happy season is over then, french police having to use tear gas in Paris again, this time on there own supporters, so it is not only the English and Russians are Gobshites then.
Well done Portugal, makes up for when Greece turned you over a few years ago in the final.
