and weld it to a large enough base plate and that is what you will have
i usually just use the scissor jack and a swingarm stand if i need to get everything off the ground

personally im not a fan of delboys garage im team 'the workshop' lol
but this is a good video for doing everything you need to do from neither party and only talks about the serious stuff
i would watch it at 1.5x speed if you are just watching it for watching its sake - watch at normal speed it actually doing the swap

Sorry if you know this already, but if you look at the sidewall of the tyre you should find a four digit number stamped on it's own and this will tell when the tyre was made. For example 1016 would mean it was made in the tenth week of 2016, 4312 = 43rd week of 2012, etc.

didnt know that - turned my last from tyre into a table and turns out that was made in 2013 so no wonder it was cracked

+1 for venhill
Racers use 2 lines as the ACU Governing Body banned cross over lines as tyre or mudguard failure could and has severed the cross over line causing crashes.
Sorry to be a nerd. You can use a splitter on a race bike under ACU regs, as long as the splitter is not lower than the bottom yoke.
Ruby Racing we are nerds together
14.22 BRAKES For machines fitted with two front disc brakes, a split of the front brake lines for both front brake calipers must be made at or above the lower fork yoke

there are some bikes with the splitter underneath the lower yoke so its prob just a 'do em all' solution

im running 789's and they are a bit tight with the oem lines (thank god for the splitter in this case)
the 789 streetfighters are a little bit higher and longer looking at the comparison tables so you should be fine with 758's
im sure the first renthals i bought for this bike were 758 but they were twisted to buggery - nice angle for them though

on the headstock measuring technique you should be able to do it by just removing the tank then  find a place to measure to under the seat - you dont want to go too far back on the subframe as that may have moved slightly over time

but a 30 mpg crash shouldnt have done anything major too the frame if it has bent the forks but not enough to touch the radiator then you should be ok
round steel twin cradle frames are amazingly strong - look how many old school motocross bikes have survived
also have a look at ruby racings project that took a good old whack on the front end and is still good to go

the only difference i can see is that OEM=4lines, RACE=3lines

I thought the OEM brakes were 1 line from the master to a splitter and then one to each caliper = 3 lines.
A race setup would be 2 lines direct from the master to the calipers.

full setup so +1 for the rear

ok just been having a search around for some new brake lines (its about time i replaced them on the old girl)
and came across wezmoto , they seem ok and read a lot of reviews all over the place as when it comes to brakes i read everything i can on even the smaller companys (in case they aint had the good chances against HEL and GOODRIDGE)
they seem to do two kits for the fzs600 a OEM standard and a full length race kit (cheaper ?)
the only difference i can see is that OEM=4lines, RACE=3lines
i can only assume this is a duel banjo on the master cylinder and a line to each caliper for the race kit (positives and negatives on this)
i have contacted them to confirm if this is the case and dont mind if it is with my future plans but if you guys know anything please share your knowledge
i told them i am on here and doing install videos etc to let everyone know the difference so hopefully they should get back to me with everything we all need to know.

jp upholstery

i was going to draw an outline of it so it could be sent around to anyone that needed it but couldnt find any paper big enough
prob works out cheaper just to buy it anyhow (unless you want some mad texture vinyl)

i notice that your ignition is not in the factory posistion
can i ask where you have moved it too as i am looking at relocating mine to minimise the front end a bit
it gets in the way of the headlight etc which i might be changing again and i want to bring the speedo a bit closer aswell

--forget that i skim read and missed that you fitted RFID ignition (thats in my plans for later on)

Type of vinyl - black stuff
was just on ebay precut for about 13 quid (wasnt even thinking about doing it till i saw it)
seems to stretch in all directions as i expected it too
did find it was a little delicate though and wanted to tear if i didnt get enough staples in quick enough or had the stapler pressed hard against the surface

FZS600 Fazer / Re: side stand removal / fitting help
« on: 29 January 2018, 01:00:18 am »
how many springs are there 1 or 2  (inner and outer)- i made a vid with me going mental about this last year - there are two springs that pull up the side stand
and i kid you not i just bought a new side stand for that one spring - if you can upload a pic of what you have setup now we can advise and if there is something spare from my recent purchase missing i will send it over to you

ok sorry for not updating earlier but got a beer in my hand and got distracted
got recovered today after getting a air stapler (needed one anyhow)
used a bit of shrink wrap  to add the extra waterproofing
this is a three hand job to really pull in the stretch and staple nicely (volunteer got the stapler)
throw the new vinyl in tumble drier for a few mins first and staple front and back
try and pull in the 'arse hump'  part first to pull that in
then work away to pull in any wrinkles - it came pretty natural of what was needed to heat then pull (dirty minded jokes are expected)
the end result

Is the fuel pump clicking when you switch the ignition on?
darrsi hits another home run - if it doesnt click like a bugger just lift your tank and give it a tap with the back of good sized screwdriver
if it still dont come on give it a whack with a screwdriver - you can see where the future go's here
carpet cleaner (george) only needed a reasuring tap to get the pump working again yesterday

yeah i just realised i say that having only used high octane before i fixed the badly balanced carbs - i might try a tank full on my next long ride out to see how it is now all is sorted

347
FZS600 Fazer / Re: Fazer 600 won't start
« on: 28 January 2018, 03:02:27 pm »
i wouldnt use high octane mine didnt like it at all and im sure i read the same from others
when you drained the carb bowls did you look to see if there was any water in there??
its always near empty tanks that gather the most moisture so there is a good chance that is the problem
just drain whats left into 2lt pop bottles and you will see if there is water (it settles at bottom)  once its settled then you can either syphon the fuel from above the water (personally i would just use this in your lawnmower if you have one) re drain your float bowls aswell so its a completly dry system then top up with fresh fuel and reprime, hopefully good to go

348
shouldnt have any problems fitting one of those although you will have to splice in some wires as you need
please check these before taking my word for it (or someone else verify )

ignition power  -  brown i think
earth -  Black
tacho pulse - yellow/black
you might have a wire just for ilumination - i think bright blue is the one for if your headlights are on

349
yeah i take back everything i previously said about that chinese koso - it has just finally given up life
will be getting a proper koso at some point but cant afford it at the moment
