FZS600 Fazer / vibration @6k since engine was put back in.
« on: 18 July 2016, 08:14:57 am »
Morning all.
Had a nice ride down to Whitby & Skegness yesterday but vibrations caused problems.
Found that riding with revs at roughly 6k my fingers & thumb were going numb!
I know I'll be told not to ride at 6k revs  :rolleyes
Anyway I had the engine out over the winter (dredded snapped header bolts & eng repaint)
Also put now chain & sprockets on at same time  & ever since there's been a vibrations.
What I'd like to know, is there a specific sequence to bolting the end back in ?

Cheers in advance for any sane replies.

FZS600 Fazer / Does anyone align their rear wheel/chain this way ??
« on: 14 February 2016, 02:51:50 pm »
Hi Foccers.

Its possible I maybe I'm over thinking this but when I use the alignment marks on the rear arm to align the wheel it just doesn't seem to be sitting true.
My way of thinking let me to wonder if measuring the gap between the tyre and the swing arm would work !

Is this possible or am I barking up the wrong tree !!!

2003 600 Front & Rear Wheels £30

Looks like someon's been trying to polish up the rims but not done a very good job (i'd admit it if it was me  :lol )
I'd keep them for myself & have them powder coated but I don't trust myself to drill out the disc studs that have been snapped, especially as its all of them !
Probably an easy job for someone with the know-how & right tools no doubt.
Front has a Metzler roadtec tyre on it but its well worn (no snapped disc studs).

Selling as need room.

Collection from Northumberland (Few miles south of Amble on the East Coast)

2003 foxeye 600 bare frame.

I bought this as a rolling frame/chassis back in may with ideas of building a streetfighter.

The bloke I bought this off had purchased it from Copart (Salvage) because he wanted the enging, electrics & controlls for a Quad project and it had very little milage on it.
Yes I saw the project so he wasn't bullsh!ting.
Unfortunatly I didn't get the v5 as he couldn't find it, but he gave me the reg number which he got by looking on his purchase history on Copart, & assured me there wouldn't be a problem applying for new v5, So I saved the reg as a note on my phone & I lost all data on my phone a few months back so can't give you the reg (Sorry)

Anyways I was going to use the forks on my bike but found they were slightly bent after stripping them to re-seal them & I gave up on her.
Sold a couple of bits here & there but now really can't be bothered.

So if anyone wants a frame they can have it for £20 but its colection only - from NE659SX (Hadston which is a few miles south of Amble on the Northumberland coast)

Ok this might be a crap idea but if you don't try, I guess you don't know

I'm thinking of replacing the seals for the shift shaft on my sprocket cover with sealed roller bearings that I used to use in radio control cars.
Was just thinking it might give the shaft a little extra stability  ;)

Has anyone else tried this ?

My engines out for a paint refresh  :wall
A lot of the jumilee clips have been replaced over time so I just wonder if anyone has a list of the sizes & numbers needed to replace all the jubilee clips to stainless steel ones.
Most of the ones fitted have no information on which is why I'm asking.

For Sale & Wanted / 2000 Boxeye 600 Generator Cover/Left Casing Wanted.
« on: 04 December 2014, 08:40:32 am »
Looking for a generator casing/cover for my 600 boxeye (2000)

I've found out mine is full of body filler, looks like its been dropped at some point & bodged.
I'm going to be repainting the engine so it doesn't have to be in mint as long as it doesn't need bodged.
Please let me know what you have with pics & prices please.

Regards,
Sandscorcher.

FZS600 Fazer / Shocker top rubber Bush measurements needed !
« on: 29 September 2014, 11:23:03 pm »
Hi all,

I've noticed that the bushing at the top of my rear shocker is shot & could do with being replaced.

As far as I can tell this is the part number - 2YK222160000
Only prob is its blinking pricey at around £80 so I'm wanting to see if there's an alternative hence needing the measurements.

Cheers,
Sandscorcher.

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone out there has made their own Luggage rack ?

I know Renntec and givi do them, then theres the ugly wingrack, but if anyone has made or adapted another one it would be good to see & get ideas as I may end up making my own for my boxeye

Please post pics and info that may help.

Cheers for any informative/constructive replies.

Introduction / Possible mid life crysis
« on: 10 April 2014, 06:53:14 pm »
Hi folks,

I'm not new to motorbikes but I have only just got round to passing my (direct access) motorcycle test at age 43 & 11months  :lol , which was just a few weeks back.

I dont really see it as a mid life crysis but other might "they can go n shove their thoughts where the sun dont shine though"
After meeting my wife & starting a family many moons ago I decided bikes would take a back seat untill my children were all grown up.
Now that that is the case I've gone & got my licence & I'm hoping to pick up a fazer  :)

Like many I'll be having to buy a bike with starship miles as the budget is low, but maybe if a bike has lots of miles its been looked after to get as many clocked up, or at least thats what I'm hoping.

Anyway enought for now I'm off to brows about the forums to fill my mind with as much info as possible  ;)

Cheers - Sandscorcher (Lee)
