Post by: mobile mouse on 17 April 2018, 09:30:08 pm

The fork cover clips into a recess on the lower fork leg (search for pic of lower fork leg) try using your fingers to push it up or wrap something around the lower leg & carefully use a small screwdriver.
You don't need to remove them for any fork work ie fork seal replacement.

the lower fork legs are going to be vapour blasted to clean them up so they need to be striped.

its high pressure water with grit in
its a softer approach than typical sandblasting and often better as it gives a smoother more uniform finish

so many people have carbs done this way but i am not a fan as the grit is not soluble and gets everywhere
stripped engines with big holes are fine and can be flushed but carbs should be soda blasted
(just for future refference that last bit - and im looking into starting a soda blasting/ultrasonic service when i get to preston lol)
