Just wondering where he lives in Spain
So do I. :-) Been living here for 9 months now and only been riding alone. If by any chance you live nearby, we could meet for a coffee/tea and a ride through the mountains?

I'm located in Andalusia, in its mountainous green heart of the Sierra de Cádiz.

EDIT: A quick look at the profile revealed: about 500 miles away. That's not exactly "nearby" ;-)

Cheers,
Sascha

*pushonceagain*

Anybody going to attend?  8) I'm curious.

Hotmetal will be there, that much is for sure.  :)

Don't hesitate too long. Only six weeks left!

Cheers,
Sascha

P.S.:
There is also a t-shirt for this year's meet. Check http://fazertreffen.spreadshirt.de/2013-C284290
Tip: To save shipping, you might want to have it sent to the hotel on your behalf.

*push*  :)

This year's meet will take place from July, 25th through 28th.

Plan! Book! Show!  :evil

I'd go for the obstructed air intake. Cloth, map, rain gear, plastic bag or anything stored under the seat that can get sucked in at high rpm.

A classic cause for irritation :-)

Cheers,
Sascha

Too bad none of you has showed up. I really was looking forward to meeting you again.

This year the meet was not so much international as it used to be :-(

Plan ahead! Our rooms have already been booked for next year's 10th annual meet! As every year: last weekend in July. Mark your calendars.

Sascha

btw.... as every year, I have designed (with my amateurish skills  :rolleyes ) a t-shirt logo for this year's meet.

It can be found here: http://fazertreffen.spreadshirt.de

In case anybody cares to have one, and can wait to pick it up on location, I suggest you order it and have it sent to the hotel to save shipping costs.

If you need help with the process (the site is available in German only, but it's quite self-explanatory) do not hesitate to ask me and I will be glad to assist and answer any questions.

The price might appear a bit steep, but rest assured that I do not earn a single penny with it. The commission for me is zero! The reason for the price is a charge of 2 EUR per colour. And as the print is blue/white/red, that makes 6 EUR for the print alone.

This is me wearing size L, by the way:

I am 6'2" (1.88m) weighing roughly 185lbs (84kg). Just so you can estimate your size.

Cheers,
Sascha

I'd be interested in popping over. However ....... not sure if I count! Though English, with a first gen fazer thou, I actually live in ... erm .... the Mosel Valley, 40kms from the Ring, at Zeltingen Rachtig, near Bernkastel.
We run a bikers B&B/self catering place too, for 18 euros per night should anyone prefer to stay with Brits (www.river-valley-guest-house.co.uk ) or if numbers increase to the extent that additional accommodation is needed.

Hah! You're destined to come! If you don't *we* come and get you  :lmao2

Too bad you don't offer lunch. Else we might stop by on our saturday ride-out. Before taking Bruttig-Fankel  :D

Cheers,
Sascha

11
Any takers?
None?

@Mark: Would you go alone if nobody joins you?

12
Yehehhhs... it's going to take place as Mark mentioned...

We want to see our british brothers aplenty. So come all! :-D OK, I guess space and rooms on location are limited. But there are more pensions and B&B in the closer vicinity.

If you're considering joining us check with Chris (the owner) at http://www.hotel-forsthaus.com for availability of rooms (explicitly mentioning the meet "Fazertreffen", because he will offer a special rate including dinner). In case he's booked out, he can arrange for other acommodations in the area.

It would be cool if you joined us (instead of only doing your own thing and speeding round the Nordschleife all day). We're having nice ride-outs and of course lots of fun over beers and barbecues in the evenings.

Looking forward to seeing you.

Cheers,
Sascha

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / what colour is it?
« on: 12 March 2012, 08:38:08 pm »
With "YAMAHA" on the fuel tank it must be a 2001 or 2002, thus it's DPBMC.

Galaxy Blue came out in 2004. And those have a black frame and a pitchfork logo on the tank.

Sascha

« on: 25 October 2011, 11:20:11 am »
iphone, browsing is difficult. If you click on a thread, it comes up with a box that covers half the screen that you can't get past. I wait until I get home now :(
Cannot confirm that. With my iPhone 4 (jb iOS 4.3.2) using the iCab browser (not Safari) the whole site looked perfectly OK, everything fully functional.

Sascha

« on: 21 October 2011, 12:17:42 pm »
Nice story! You have a lot potential  :)

I tried Speedway riding myself when I was 16 to 18. Three summers of exciting training sessions. Our club used to be very famous back in the days. MSC Diedenbergen. Perhaps some of the Speedway fans around here already heard of it.

In the beginning I only accelerated on the straights and sort of rolled through the bends with the throttle closed. It was really scary to approach the corners at high speed knowing you have no brakes  :o But after a while it was vice versa. As soon as I knew the trick to get the bike sideways and control the drift with the throttle I got too quick at the end of the bends and sort of rolled down the straights with the throttle closed :lol . Unfortunately I didn't get to combine those two skills after a crash, from which the bike never really recovered. Although the front fork was replaced the headset bearings were not fitting correctly anymore and nobody could fix that. I couldn't afford a professional repair and so the bike stayed in the club garage until -years later- somebody bought the pieces. That was the end of my Speedway career aspirations. I was too tall anyway. Never could have made it  :rolleyes

A friend of mine is still member of the club and asked me if I'd be interested in trying a few laps just for the fun of it. We'll see, maybe next year. Season is over now.

Cheers,
Sascha

Biggest majority of us on here going by the age of some of the cars must be over the 40 mark !  :eek

Yes. So? Any problem with that?

We are looking at different options. I'm on holiday (it's cloudy and cold today so I'm bored so I'm on here) so I think we'll start again after I get back. We are all working on other things at the same time.

Tapatalk was installed on a test site but never on this live site so it will not work. I assume your vore will be for tapatalk? What phone / os do you use?
Ah, now I see... OK, I'll shut up and wait :-)

I am using an iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.1 and an iPhone 3G on 3.1.3. Both running tapatalk 1.12.1 (the latest one).

Sascha

Hi,

what's the current status on this?

I tried to login via tapatalk a few minutes ago but I got an error message that the administrator has disabled it. However, I have seen posts with a tapatalk signature beneath them. So it must have worked before, I reckon.

Mine was a 1980 Volkswagen Passat in "frog green" as I liked to call it.

Very similar to this one:

It featured a sensational 55 horsepowers that was with replacement engine for the original 85hp engine. The gearbox was still original so you can figure the acceleration it produced ;-)

I spray painted a huge Red Hot Chili Peppers logo on the hood. This car was my pride and joy. Spent a lot of time in it, even only listening to music. *sigh*

Post count seems ok
Just wondering why my join date is out by about 5 months?
Not bothered really, just thought I'd mention it :)
Mine's off by almost a year and a half. My new profile here says my Join Date is 17 February 2007, while my Yuku profile states (correctly) September, 3rd 2005.

Not that it really matters, but I thought I should mention it  8)

Hi Sascha,
Welcome back. Is there still an annual meeting at The Forsthaus near the Nurbugring? I went to 2 or 3 a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed them.
Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark,

yes, there is. The next one will be held from July, 26th to 29th 2012. Here is the thread in the old forum.

I will open up a new one soon to promote the meet here :-)

Hope you can make it next year.

Cheers,
Sascha

Ezboard was the one before Yuku :)
Ah, yes, right, ezboard... now I remember.

Quote from: Farjo
Are you from the German Fazer lot? Glad you made it :thumbup
Yes, I'm from fazer-net.de (Oku's entourage  :D ) and fazerforum.eu! Thanks for welcoming me.

I'm glad that the structure of the new board hasn't changed, so it's not too difficult to get acquainted with the new looks.

Vorsprung Durch Technik or something.
Uhm, something like that, yes. I prefer "Vorsprung durch Fahrkönnen", however  ;)

Cheers,
Sascha

P.S.: As the topics from yuku haven't been moved here, I think I'll have to start another "Intl. Fazer-meet"-thread :-)
