FZS600 Fazer / Miss fire
« on: 06 March 2014, 06:10:40 pm »
Just started the bike after a few weeks sitting dormant and it's developed a miss fire. When revved up it sounds fine, just tick over and gentle throttle has the issue.
It's been out in all that rain and wind we've had lately and fear water has got in somewhere.
Any hints or tips as what to look for?
Thanks in advance

« on: 26 January 2014, 09:18:42 pm »
So its my first bike with under seat storage (bar the TRX) and I'm wondering what you fine people carry in yours. I'll carry my disc lock and probably a bottle of water.
I'd like to hear your ideas / suggestions  8)

FZS600 Fazer / First impressions
« on: 25 January 2014, 04:48:53 pm »

Well it got me home in relative comfort.
Stopped twice to stretch legs and once more for fuel.
Rides really nicely but the clutch is very late
Is that a sign it needs replacing or can I adjust it some how?
Fuel light comes on as soon as needle hits quarter full but goes off again when under quarter??
Throttle cable has a bit of slack but I think I can do that.

Apart from those niggles I'm really pleased with it, it's heavier than I was expecting, my trx 850 seemed lighter
But it's quite comfy and goes really well!!

FZS600 Fazer / Buyers Guide?
« on: 20 January 2014, 09:40:28 pm »
I couldnt find a specific buyers guide, bit late now any way  :rolleyes

But what are the main things to do, check on them?
On my old CCM I had to turn the fuel tap off pretty mych all the time as the fuel would drain down, does this model have that issue?

Secondly I'd like to install a 12v socket, is there a how to guide anywhere?
Also, wheres the best place for parts and accessories?
I'd like to get a belly pan, rear hugger, new levers, probably a few other bits once i have actually seen it !

Thanks

General / How do you find your way
« on: 20 January 2014, 07:28:02 pm »
Right, the thing is Ive bought a bike oop north and I'm gonna ride it home Saturday but not being a well travelled biker i dont have a sat nav for a bike and I dont feel I need one as I'll not be doing that many journeys where I'll need one.
I'm thinking of just having my i pad in my rucksack and have the directions through an earphone ?

Any other suggestions?

Introduction / Here we go then
« on: 10 January 2014, 05:43:10 pm »
After a lucky find on ebay I decided I like the look of the 600 Fazer and I hope to be the owner of one this weekend.
I'm fairly new to bikes so I have only owned 2 big bikes so far

CCM 644 was a lovely blat about bike but I got a numb arse after an hour or so

Yamaha TRX850 wonderful bike but due to a knackered wrist I couldnt ride that for any amount of time so that had to go also!

I've also had a few of these

Anyway, thats about all I can say about my biking carreer!
