My tuner has recently started flashing ECUs and I'm wanting to get mine done but upon closer inspection it turns out you cant 'live tune' the Fz1 Gen2 due to the ecu being under the air box.
But Im thinking all we need is an extension lead of sorts so we can extend the wire and have the ecu just outside the air holes in the frame (where is would be accessible easily) I've had a look online but cant seem to find anything, does anyone know of one or a way it can be made?

Few months back I saw a top box for the 1000 gen 2 that was mounted via the rear seat. The rear seat came off and a whole unit replaced it that the top box then attached too. Cant remember if it was for sale on here or on ebay but just wondering if anybody has any idea what one it was or what brand etc? Cheers

Anyone used this 'calimoto' app? It's actually really good for coming up with impromptu fun routes to ride on. I've only had it a few days so not fully explored it all but seems like it's a brilliant little app for bikers who like to ride without a destination in mind. Also finds alternative 'twistier' routes for your normal commute (if possible obviously)

I switched over my bars today to flat drag bars and now that I reassemble everything the throttle has a huge 'notch' in it? I cant see what could have changed as it's only an inch lower than it was before? I've tried adjusting the free play using the top adjuster but that doesnt change it It springs back perfect it's just when I'm opening the throttle it seems to catch slightly then release once I apply more pressure It happens probably 8 out of every 10 times I try to open the throttle? Anyone have any ideas what could be up?

Selling a set of Rizoma MA005B fat bars. They're the ones that are 1 inch in the centre then taper out to 7/8th at the controls. I'm pretty sure they are the lowest rise ones before drag bars In good condition but have been drilled to accommodate Gen2 switch gear etc
If anyone is interested then I'm looking for around the £30 mark delivered to your door

As per title can anyone recommend a good quality paddock stand? Not interest in an ABBA or anything that fancy, just a normal good quality rear paddock stand preferably designed to fit the Fz1 so I can just line up and lift?
I currently have a 'universal' one with spring hooks and I'm sick to death of trying to line it up then faff about pushing the hooks back and forth to get them on the spools while also holding the bike upright etc etc then once its finally up I've noticed its leaning to one side so really need a new one

I'm fitting a new rear spring and jack up kit to my Gen 2, as with most thing if a jobs worth doing then it's worth doing right so I'd like to replace all the nuts and bolts while I have it apart.
Does anyone have any idea either what size or where I could buy the bolts that hold the linkages together?
I've included a picture showing the two bolts in question so you know what I'm on about Cheers

I'm thinking it might be wise for the admin to add a section for these debate type threads that keep cropping up. They are starting to take over slightly and the actual bike elements of the forum are getting lost amoung them. At least if they are all together in one place then people know exactly what to expect in that particular section of the forum. I personally don't bother with then as I feel they are more a ground for argument then actual sensible debate but there is no denying they can turn into a bit topic so there needs to be a place for them
Also I honestly think they need moderating as the insults are starting to lean towards personal attack. There is no problem 'debating' a subject but once it comes to personal jibes I think that's going slightly too far. At the end of the day we are all here for the things we have in common not our political views, we need to make sure it stays friendly 👍👍

I'm after a new helmet and just thought I'd ask what you guys are wearing?
I currently use a Shark Speed R Sauer which is very nice looking, a little noisey and took an age to bed in but all in all it wasn't a bad lid. Looking to go for similar sporty style helmets. Anyone have any recommendations?

Rst Mesh jacket. Absolutely amazing for riding in warm weather. Feels like riding in a t-shirt bit with protection. As you can see in the pictures the mesh is all over the front panels and let's all the air through Comes with the water/windproof and quilted inserts which are great to stick in a topbox/backpack etc on summer rides in case the weather changes
Size XL which is around the 44 chest mark but does fit a little on the snugger side, especially with all the inserts zipped in
2 years old, no rips or tears, never been in an accident etc.
Looking for £50 posted Avaliable for collection from the Cleethorpes/Grimsby Area
Any other info required, please ask

As per title I'm looking at 'resleeving' my squire chain. Ive found a few material sleeves from Opus but nothing long enough 🤔 Cant seem to find any other material ones so I'm trying to find out where I could pick up some of the plastic sleeving? The blue stuff that cheaper chains come with, does anyone have any idea what it's called or where to get it?

Just done another oil and filter change, I had a 4 litre bottle of oil but only managed to put about 2.7 litres in the first time round. Started her up for a few mins then let it settle and the oil was barely at the glass when level. So topped up with a bit more to make it half wayn took her out for a spin for 20 mins then came back and put her away.
This morning I've just been to check the level and its now pretty much touching the top of the glass when cold, I know it's a little fuller than normal but is that enough to be a problem or shall I drain a few ml?

Is it alright to mix fully synth and semi synth oils?
Both are Castrol Power 1, one is the racing and the other is standard.
I only ask as my local auto store has got an offer on the semi where you get 5 litres for the price of 4 and I already have 1 litre of fully synth in the garage, (as well as an engine fully of it) Just thinking I can use the remaining 1 litre of fully synth mixed with 2 litres of semi and I'll still have 3 litres of it left for the next oil change?

Anyone have a clue if the standard gen2 1000 wheels are alloy or steel? And is it possible to anodized them? I'm wanting them to be the same gold as the forks and the price of buying new gold ones is just a joke so looking at other options?

Only recently bought it but decided im not a fan of the way it makes my bike look. Has a few very minor scratches (hardly noticable unless you really look for them) but other than that it's perfect. Comes with full fitting kit.

Just wondering if anyone has used them before?
I'm looking to get my ecu flashed so I can get rid of this pc3 and also to smooth out the throttle etc etc I've been looking around the web (and I've asked here in the past) and they are the name that keeps popping up. It's a 3 hour ride from me and gonna cost £360 so I just want to make sure they are the best people for the job haha
And if not are there any other recommendations?

For this of you who have bought new discs or had a brand new motorbike..... what is the typical bedding in process?? I've never had either before and as such was just planning on riding as normal for a few weeks before being heavy on the brakes, but reading online there seems to be various different methods ranging from jamming them on at speed, slowly braking from increasing speeds and riding for X amount of yard with the brakes slightly on? Anyone have any advice on a good way to bed them in correctly?
