General / paramedics lucky escape
« on: 05 March 2014, 07:19:36 pm »
Whilst taking the cage to the garage this morning , I was waiting at the lights by the railway bridge on the Malago , when an ambulance came past with sirens and lights on travelling in my direction but in the wrong lane , as he got near the lights , a paramedic on a motorcycle came round the corner with his lights and sirens on straight into the path of the ambulance , the motorcyclist slammed on his brakes and nearly dropped the bike to his right , just missing the ambulance  , if they had collided who would have been at fault .

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / K&N air filter
« on: 23 February 2014, 03:25:20 pm »
Noticed that the K&N air filter isn't as tall as the Yamaha one - about 5mm shorter and only has a gasket for the top lip . The Yamaha one has a gasket top and bottom. is this correct .

General / Foccin orange
« on: 28 January 2014, 10:02:00 pm »
Orange have transferred my account to paperless billing without telling me , which I found out when I phoned to enquire where my bill for January was .
Just spent ages registering , tells me account opened , then when I try to log in they say details don't match , so I still can't see my flaming bill.
Also had another phone on my account for my daughter , when her contract ran out , we arrange to transfer the new contract to her so she could build up her credit history , guess what they even cocked that up , apparently the transfer team didn't complete the transfer .
Needless to say ,when my contract runs out , they can stick it up there arse , I will be going pay as u go , also there coverage is crap .
Rant over

General / Blanket 20mph limits
« on: 21 January 2014, 06:45:56 pm »
Bristol Mayor George Ferguson , is planning to roll out blanket 20mph limits throughout Bristol , which will eventually be enforced by mobile scamera vans according to the local news . It should be interesting I am constantly being tailgated when sticking to 30mph limits , another reason not to go into town .

General / legal advise
« on: 28 November 2013, 06:12:38 pm »
I bought a car from Bob Davies car sales of Ebbw Vale in mid august , one of my conditions of purchase was the car had a new Mot and a service with a stamp in the book , a couple of days ago the car started making a grinding noise when I applied the brakes , I have taken it to Bathwick today and the rear disc is fucked due to the pad being worn to the metal , I have done 3000 miles since I purchased the car , the mechanic said the pad  must have been  below the legal limit when the car was sold , so therefore how could it have passed the MOT .
So  would it be worth my while putting a claim against the garage that sold the car , or just putting it down to experience .

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Removing rocker cover
« on: 03 November 2013, 12:22:12 pm »
How do you slide the rocker cover out , there isn't enough height to lift it over the water pipes , do you have to remove the metal water pipe , there is an allen bolt underneath the cover near the pipe , does this hold the pipe in place . Thanks in advance for any advice given .

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Rocker cover water pipes
« on: 01 November 2013, 07:34:46 pm »
What is the best way to remove the water pipes going into the rocker cover , I have had a look and it seems you need to remove the radiator filler unit , pull that off with the pipe attached , then remove the bracket bolted to the frame in order to gain some leverage to remove the two short water pipes .
Thanks in advance for any advice given .

« on: 09 October 2013, 02:24:55 pm »
I,m gonna need to replace my air filter in the new year , and am looking to get the K&N one , how long do they last compared to a standard one , or is it a case of just cleaning it at intervals with a service kit instead of replacing it .

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / AIS removal
« on: 25 September 2013, 03:49:51 pm »
I am planning to paint the rocker cover during the winter months , which will involve removing the radiator and the AIS .
It would seem a good idea to replace the AIS with the Ivan's AIS removal kit , which appears to be a cheap mod and Pats motorcycle page has a step by step guide .
But the instructions do warn that removing the AIS can cause the bike to fail the emissions part of the MOT , has anybody experienced this .
Thanks in advance for any advice .

I am not a mechanic but was wondering .Is it possible to tell when an egr valve is open or shut without removing it , wondering if I were to disconnect it when its shut , then took it for a run and it was ok then that would confirm whether the valve was faulty or not . any advice much appreciated .

A stunning lady walks up to the bar , she signals the barman to bring his face close to hers , running her fingers through his hair she says softly " are you the manager ?" "no" , he says. Can you give him a message ? she asks stroking his face & allowing 2 fingers to slip into his mouth so he can suck them gently & sliding them seductively across  his teeth & round his tongue . " Tell him there,s no fucking toilet paper .!
