Has anyone got one of these for sale?

She's my daily transport and the MOT is due. I'm feeling cornered!

Thanks, Brian.

A slightly leftfield question here, but after a career swerve I now work as a tree surgeon, I have got the main tickets and am working regularly for one firm, just starting to do work up in the trees. In order to expand my experience I may do some subcontractor work around London - for which using the bike would be ideal. My forum request therefore I whether anyone has any experience of carrying around a chainsaw on a bike safely, ideally without removing the bar and chain, so something which encases both, is secure and ideally allows me to lock away some gear on the bike while I work, so I think a hardcase pannier system, no topbox as most of my climbing gear fits nicely into a haul bag which I would strap to the back of the bike..

Any ideas appreciated.

Cheers.

FZS600 Fazer / Replacement front brake lever and right wing mirror
« on: 05 December 2015, 05:10:55 pm »
Hi all,

Peed off to find my bike on its side when I returned to it today, my already bent front brake lever has broken to half its length, and the right wing mirror snapped off, has anyone got a line on either of these items?

I have read a lot of the threads on the replacement stubby levers, but if I can pick up a straight original for the same price I would as soon keep the bike original - I know that may be asking a lot, this must be the lever which gets snapped all the time..

Cheers, B

« on: 25 May 2014, 10:27:14 am »
Is anyone local to clapham with a set of jump leads could come and give a Foccer a bit of juice?

Somehow my battery drained dead overnight and I am stuck away from home.. Corner of north side Wandsworth common and spencer park..

Cheers!

FZS600 Fazer / Snapped LH foot peg
« on: 14 January 2014, 06:23:12 pm »
Some unhelpful sod evidently hit the foot peg while the bike was parked the other day, and the peg now spins, which is unfortunate when it goes far enough around to fold away!

What is involved in changing this out? And does anyone have one if these in their spares box they would sell me?

Gen 1 fzs6 1999.

Thanks!

Anyone have any views on where to best source one of these nuggets? Despite best efforts with WD and heat I have stripped the allen head out of one of the pins..

As far as getting the old one out I was thinking to get myself a set of extractors and having a go. However the pin is not very thick for this sort of approach, I could well end up spoiling the thread in the caliper.

Any advice?

Thanks!  Brian

FZS600 Fazer / Recovered my Fazer, what a result!
« on: 24 July 2013, 12:48:30 pm »
So happy to report I have my fazer back after its disappearance last week! It reappeared yesterday morning, parked up neatly blocking the pavement on my own road. Ignition wiring cut, half way up/down the steep hill I live on, still with a full tank of petrol.

I am mysified. The full tank suggests they did not go far, but they must have ridden it away, or I would have found it dumped at the bottom of the hill days ago (maybe after a failed bump start?); they presumably also had it running in order to dump it half way up a steep hill yesterday. If they had it running why only do a litre or so's worth of riding in the 3 days it was missing, and then bring it back to the very road they nicked it from?

I feel very lucky to have it back, no major damage, just the cut wiring, jimmyed seat which does not fit quite right now and missing plastic side panel on left side. Could have been a lot worse. Anyone got a spare one of those plastic covers?

Cheers.

For Sale & Wanted / Wanted - FZS600 Square eye
« on: 19 July 2013, 01:57:30 pm »
Due to theft of my much loved square eye I am looking at my next bike, when the insurance gets through.

So just a note to see if anyone knows of another of these lovely machines, ideally lowish mileage, one which has been kept by an enthusiast, maintained and loved. Exupnut says it has to be blue for some reason..

Thanks.

FZS600 Fazer / Some bastard has nicked my fazer!
« on: 19 July 2013, 09:20:05 am »
Deeply peeved to report my lovely square-eye pictured below (I hope, not inserted images before) has gone missing from Forest Hill, SE23.

Noted for its forgiving nature, quick wits and good looks the machine will be missed. Waiting for the rozzers to come back to me now, but I somehow doubt I will see it again..

I would be grateful if you could all keep your eyes open for me though, reg S876LEF, Silver, no decal on fairing, oval beowulf stainless can.

Gutted.

Anyone know of a nice example for sale?

Ta,

B

FZS600 Fazer / broken top yoke
« on: 15 December 2012, 04:41:12 pm »
Hey all,

I have just noticed that a crack in the top yoke casting beneath the ignition switch has developed since I last saw it, as the picture shows. So far as I can see this does not look structural as such, but I would appreciate any opinions on the safety of riding the bike until I can get hold of a replacement yoke and sort it out.

Thanks!

FZS600 Fazer / Fairing repair recommendation in London
« on: 07 June 2012, 10:39:37 am »
Unfortunately my bike was knocked over outside my place the other week, breaking one side of the fairing.. I dont think any sections are missing or have broken off so I think it should repair alright. I have had a quote from a very good repair place near me for 250 or so, but I think there are cheaper places around who do decent work - can anyone recommend somewhere?

Thanks!

Fazer as a recommended first bike - I think I got good advice! This seems like the site to be part of. London based, not far from the ace as it goes.
