I got a set from Markman Industrial. Or was it All Balls Racing. If forget.

If a bearing has failed, the roller caged one is a bastard to remove. It kind of welds itself into the aluminium of the wheel. Good luck!

i hope not...but thanks..

Look on ebay for parts or complete exhaust containing the exup valve, always a few on as most of us FZ1 owners junk it and put an aftermarket exhaust can on.
It is not crucial to keep it unlike the gen 1 Fazer 1000.
I have been running mine with an aftermarket can on for 9 months and no exup with no problems and no noticeable change in perforrmance.
ok thanks for that. i have aftermarket can, the exup is in the header part of exhaust oem, bike is running ok.

I contacted Yamaha about this, they said that the fan sins up to prevent it being distorted from the heat being given off from the downpipes.
that makes sense cheers

The fan kicks in automatically and will go off when you put the bike in gear.  Best guess is Yamaha designed that way to ensure that the fan gets spun up regularly even though the motor might not reach temps high enough to need it all that often.

Headers will get hot - and fast.  The two aren't connected, I'm sure. :)
Thanks for that....

I have a 2005 fzs 1000, after about a minute after start up the exhaust header/downpipe gets really hot..then the fan kicks in...is this normal or should i be worried..
