My lad has decided to refurbish a cx500. I think he has a bit of a soft spot as we have pictures of him sat on one I had years ago. Anyway the one he's bought had been partially converted to a trike and has lumps of the frame missing, I know it's a long shot but I don't suppose anyone has a cx500 frame getting in their way? Happy new year all.

Oh well I bled my back brakes and noticed I don't seem to have a cap on the coolant expansion bottle, I've never taken it off because the level has never moved and it's full now but no lid? Anyway cutting to the chase so to speak does anyone have one kicking about surplus?

Ok so I started my bike up this afternoon everything working ok, then it was just as if I'd turned it off, the engine stopped and the lights went out. The only thing that worked was the hazard lights with ignition on or in park position , the indicators in the on position and the parking lights in the parking ignition switch position. After twiddling everything worked again for about two minutes and then the fault returned as before.
Currently I have a supply to the fuses under the seat that goes on and off with the ignition switch, all lights ,horn, starter etc don't work except the indicators/ hazards work as they should. I had to call it a day earlier and I'm going to resume tomorrow. So has anyone had this before and if so what was it?

I got some used yamaha crash bungs from ebay but they didn't have any bolts with them,  looking at the existing ones I think I need about another 10 -15mm
So that would be 140mm x8mm  and 140mm x10mm twice. Anyone got them fitted and do my guesstimates sound about right?

I've just stripped and cleaned my front brakes whilst my wheels were out having new tyres fitted and I seem to have a steel front brake pad shim missing, has anybody got one kicking about that they don't need or is it a trip to the dealers.

Has anyone had dealings with the above? They have a grey thou for sale that looks good, price / mileage/ etc but all the reports I've seen on the net from people seem to suggest they're not very good to deal with. I know I should just keep looking as I'm in no hurry but I keep coming back to it.
Any comments or experiences appreciated.

I only tend to use tapatalk and read the unread posts but as I'd read them all I started to read any in the subscribed to section and found several posts that I hadn't read but that didn't show up in the unread part?

I've been looking at something a bit cooler for summer that will still give some protection most Kevlar jeans seems to be £90+ but some on Ebay seem ok but are cheaper? Has anyone bought any or have any advice good or bad. I've tried to add a link to Ebay....

Does anyone know if all exup valves are set up the same? As I don't have an exup valve on mine (fzs600) I don't know a lot about them but my sons yzf750 has one and I'm unsure how to check it or set it up. Any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

Hi   I'm thinking of buying some crash bungs before I wish I had    I've read that the single bolt ones are poor and the multi point ones are better. Does anyone have any advice (I know don't drop it  ) on which are best which should be avoided where to buy from etc.
