General / BIKESAFE Surrey

:) I attended a BikeSafe Surrey ride yesterday. 150 miles of police system tution, very relaxed, very good paced riding with loads to tips. The guys are bikers and just want to help us ride safer but still push on.
Excellent value for money. Thoroughly recommend this day out.

FZS600 Fazer / R&G Replacement Frame Bobbins
« on: 28 May 2014, 10:00:21 am »
Some of may have seen my replacement mudguard washers. I have a set of R&G Frame Crash Protectors (part no. CP0058BL) fitted to my 03 bike and was thinking of producing replacement bobbins as I can't seem to find any for sale.
Could I ask your reaction if I was to sell each bobbin at £16.50 including VAT and P&P. They will be made of engineering delrin in black to the same dimensions as the R&G versions which is diameter 50 by 85mm long
Many thanks.

PS. by the way R&G have the frame hole pitch centres incorrect at 51mm, they should be 50mm, so if you buy a set you have to slot the holes to make them fit.

FZS600 Fazer / Fazer 03 Front mudguard
« on: 25 April 2014, 12:43:17 pm »
Hi folks,
The front mudguard is held in place using 4 top hat washers seated in the mudguard. These are olive drab finish and can rust. I've recently had some stainless steel washers made and to satisfy minimum order value I now have 3 sets of 4 washers spare. If anyone is interested in replacing for these stainless steel version then message me.
I paid £3.50 each plus VAT but I'll only ask for £3.50 each, so that's £14:00 for a set and I'll pay for the postage.
I have my own design company so I'm always having components manufactured.

Regards,

Bob (ex McLaren F1 engineer, so I guess I have a bit of OCD)

If anybody happens to be on the road from Odiham to Alton Hampshire, B3349, keep a look out for the Blue Teapot roadside café, just started up by a friend. Excellent bacon butties chaps. Well worth a stop.

FZS600 Fazer / Speed sensor - sprocket change
« on: 13 June 2013, 04:15:21 pm »
Hi everyone,
I guess you can call me a born again biker as I've just bought a 03 FZS600 after a very long time away! Thinking of changing the sprocket ratio to 17-46 from the std 15-48 to drop the revs for motorway cruising. As the 03 bike uses a front wheel speed sensor can this be a straight swap of the sprockets or do I need a gizmo to recalibrate the speedo?
