General / Re: What did you do with whatever else you've got?
« on: 12 January 2015, 02:32:22 am »
Spent the weekend farting around with me Ute.

Tub liner off, reversing camera cables routed through bodywork, wire for tub LED lights down the same path, camera connected to reversing light supply, tub liner back on, LED strips for tub wired into cab light, door panels off, new speakers fitted, door liners back on, stereo fitted, cab gubbins re-fitted, bumper off, new headlights fitted, bumper back on and finally oil & air filters changed.

Ah, thank fook that's over.

I'll get some photos up when it's dark, let me see what the lights actually look like too.

Dooks has an SV thou, sounds foccin' magic too.

Gotta love a big v-twin, one thing about my superduke that didn't piss me off.
My history with the SD is well documented, it was a Kunting Twatted Machine, so my advice is avoid them.
Just couldn't handle the 'Weegie weather, wiring loom literally corroded off the bike.

Always fancied an SP2 or an Aprilia RSV-R, can remember the first time the 'Priller went passed me and I could actually feel the pulses, it was lust at first sound.

The good thing, if such a phrase can be used in this case, is that Ebola is only transferred by bodily fluids, it's thankfully not airborne.
So really only blood, vom, keech, semen and the like in direct contact with you for you to catch it.

Hypochlorite solution is amazing it destroying genetic material, Ebola is a wee strand of RNA stuck in a protein shell, so the bleach solution kills it off nicely.
So for surface treatment of folks leaving an infected area the garden scoosher is ideal as it is a controlled delivery of a concentration of your choice.
Problem with a shower would be the massive volume of dilute viral suspension that you would then have to deal with.

It is an issue, but it pisses me off no end how much this has been made a huge thing by the media recently, same as Bird Flu and SARS.
The microbiologist in me shudders at the misinformation about it all...

Ok Kiddies, I'm wading in here before this descends further into chaos.

It's been apparent from recent posts that Lew and Gareth are never going to make use of the new Marriage laws available in the UK, but if we can take a step back please gents, that would be grand.

Fair to say I don't think that Lew should have relayed the Jews chasing money prejudice as fact, nor do I think that Gareth should have added fuel to an already contentious issue by paraphrasing this into money grabbing bastards.

I, along with those who held the reins prior, tend to believe that a hands off and self moderating approach is the way to proceed as we are all (allegedly) grown adults.

I will however wade in when we start lowering the level of the board to that of a UKIP style soundbite.

I don't care which Invisible Superhero that Lives in Space you believe in, nor which level of melanin you have in your skin, you will always be welcome here as long as you adopt the same approach.
As soon as you start posting bigoted pish, you're on my shitlist.

So, I'll ask us all to have a guid think before we post things of that nature, I've not wielded T-Cat's Banning Stick (TM) in anger for a while, I'd like to keep it that way.

Love 'n hugs,
Aegis

That wanker would be the one who edited the title to say what was actually for sale.
He's also the wanker that's telling you to watch what you're posting before you find that you can't.

I was $1.979 a litre yesterday, quite happy as it's dropped from about $2.20 or so over the course of the last month.
Works out at 0.979 quid a litre.

Mick, you're not selling an FZS1000, only parts for one.
How about from now on you list the parts themselves in the title rather than the complete bike, eh?

« on: 07 December 2014, 10:08:23 pm »
Sure it applies to all petrol fuels, but that's kinda my point.
The RON number is tied into the blend, but if the companies are spending more on the blend to ensure a resistance to knocking, to my thinking it makes sense that they would also spend a little more on the other additives too.

I'm not disagree that from a purely bang per buck argument there is little to be gained from a higher octane rating without engine mods, more that the "premium" fuels are more likely to contain additives that are a little more cosseting to the rest of the fuel line from tank to cylinder.

Noggy, was an option, but I decided that blowing shit up and cutting up dead stuff in front of bairns was more fun.

It's not just about the RON number, it's about what else it's blended with.
Lead being the most commonly known, if no longer used, additive...

Winter fuel and summer fuel still have the same RON number, but are entirely different compositions.
The mix of short chain, long chain, branched, unbranched and aromatic hydrocarbons are altered to allow different volatility at different ambient temperatures so the engine can start, but still blended to ensure it resists knocking as well as the iso-octane blend it's based on once in the engine.
Then you add other components such as detergents to ensure injection nozzles don't clog and the like and it's a whole lot more complicated than not exploding quicker than 95% octane.

I think.
It's been a while...
