I would like to be able to see the road this winter as my bike is my only form of transport. Can anybody suggest a good up-grade kit for the head lamp of a year 2000? My mechanic mentioned something (HID?) that he said to stay away from because it can get too hot and tends to melt and burn parts of the housing.
I'm not the most mechanically minded guy, but am very keen to learn as much as possible about my bike and all of it's possibilites. Has anyone up-graded their lamps sucessfully and were are the kits available?
 Thanks.

 Howdy folks,
The names Jason. I'm a yank that has lived in the UK for 10 years now.
A few years ago I got tired of walking everywhere, went and got a little 125cc and started exploring English roads. Last August I finally moved up to a real bike. I found a 4th hand, 2000, Fazer 600 with 19000m on it. She has served me well. I've been commuting 200 miles a week and loving it. Made for an interesting winter.
I'm learning about my bike and how to take care of her. I've had the chain and sproket replaced, and recently the down pipes. Today she gets a treat, I have to change the oil so I've got her some full synth. I would really like to do more of the maintenance my-self, but I do not have the tools, space in the car park, or experience to do a lot of it. Damn glad I found this forum. I will probably be asking a few dumb questions from time to time, but I don't really care if you point and laugh. :b

This is my 2000. She's done 27000 so far.

I recently had to pay some one to replace mine. The old set were the original ones and the bolts snapped and had to be drilled out. Took him 6 hours. Good giggle until I got the bill. I seriously need to but a house with a garage. And more tools. And learn what I'm doing.  :rolleyes
