Now sold - thanks for advice and interest! Pretty sure it won't be the last fazer I own so I'll keep lurking about on here for now!!

Cheers,

Ferg

Depends if you want the FI international certificate - took me a while to decide but in the end decided better have it than not, and risk police taking bike off me or worse my licence! ...I understand your dig of course!

5
Its up on ebay follow the link above for piccies and a full description etc. Have dropped the price a bit and I'm open to offers so send them my way if you are interested.

Cheers for looking,

Ferg

Thanks - I appreciate the honesty. out of interest what is your opinion on the value of a 02 fazer these days? If I'm way off perhaps I should reconsider? I paid more than I am asking, and I came to the conclusion that the 33bhp kit is worth a couple of hundred to somebody who needs one! Online those with 20k seemed to be around 2.2-2.5k in similar condition/mileage so thought I had pitched it right.

I'm open to offers :-)

Hey all, I've had to make the difficult decision to sell my 2002 blue fazer it's standard other than 33bhp kit, heated grips, huger, fender extender and datatool alarm. Is in great condition, tax and mot till june and 20k on the clock. It's got seven stamps in the service book prior to me buying, I bought it at 16k and and have done 2 oil/filter changes and had the valves done on it about 500 miles ago. Selling as want to upgrade my car to a sensible diesel (booo hiss!!) I'd like about £2400 for it as it's a very well looked after and tidy example. Give me a shout if your interested and I'll email pictures and chat through any questions you have. Cheers, Fergus

Grahamm - do you know what sort of connectors those have? I wonder if I could plug them into the connections for my hot grips....I suppose if not the same I could wire some converters in? I would only have on/off though!!

That's a very kind offer Robbie, i might have to take you up on it next time it snows!! I'm going to be going from lightwater to central Basingstoke so about 20 miles each way, I managed last winter doing about half the mileage, but think my gloves wernt quite up to the 30 min downpour the other night! Thinking muffs are going to be the best way forward but need to deal with Christmas shopping before I know for sure how much I can afford!

If your ever my way of the world when the suns out on a weekend give me a shout and we'll go for a spin!!

Hey all,

Thanks for the many different options suggested! I will have about 100 pounds to spend I think.

Think I will go have a look t some over the weekend and see what is available for that kind of money - although sounds like muffs might be a good idea to me!

I bought exact same bike exact same yr, with 13k on and paid £2400, which included the garage fitting 33bhp restricters - bike completely standard. That was in summer though and bikes probably go for slightly more when the sun is out!!

I think you'd get 1800-2000 for it from the right buyer, esp if you get a sticker set on there.

Hi Foccers,

As the title suggests, what are you recommendations for the best warm/dry winter gloves?

I've just got a new job and will going up and down the M3 through winter, on the ride tonight I got wet fingers and even with hot grips I got cold  :'( .

Any suggestions warmly welcomed.

Detergents will break down the durable Water repellent (dwr) coating so don't wash with normal washing powder. Nikwax tech wash is the right stuff to clean it with and then Nikwax tx direct puts on a new dwr coating to get the beading of water on the surface back. Saying all that I used a bottle of scotch guard on my jacket last time it lost its beading effect - which seems to have lasted loads longer, but I don't think it's very breathable!! The other make that's worth a try is grangers. See here: http://www.grangers.co.uk/ or here: http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/index.php for info.

Any of the aforementioned should revive your waterproof kit. Hope you remain dry, Rob :-)

Changed oil and filter (yamalube - good stuff it seems!) pulled clutch apart to check springs and plates (all good) adjusted clutch at engine end, pulled off exhausts for a pre-winter clean, patch and spray (need stainless very soon), put back on with plenty of copper grease on the header bolts so they come off again next time! Cleaned rear calliper and checked pads for wear, adjusted, cleaned and lubed chain....then had a cuppa and went for a quick spin through Windsor great park!!
