General / Bike tax madness
« on: 12 April 2017, 06:04:57 pm »My son has decided that as the weather is good, whilst he is visitign me in Sussex, he would get his FZS MOT'd so he can use it this weekend. All good so far. Bike passed the test.
It is SORN so he needs to tax it now before he can have some fun. Trouble is the V5 is in his flat in Plymouth (where nobody else has access) and DVLA wont let him pay for the tax without the reference number from the V5.
I can understand not being able to SORN without a reference number as that may result in someone making your bike illegal without you knowing, but taxing it?? We want to pay them money. I guess it is to stop you typing in A123ABC when you meant to tax A132ABC etc but doesn't help him this weekend.

« on: 12 April 2017, 02:44:56 pm »Obviously we have too many people getting Motability cars when they should be buying their own but I also accept that for some people we need to provide them with transport.
the plastic pig might be the way to go. Disabled people will get dedicated cars that will help them transport themselves around and maybe one other passenger. Perhaps the plastic pig could be replaced with one of the San Permis cars from France?

£900!!!!!!
Now talking about how much of a discount they will give me to take away the car as it is.

Seems to be able to watch most hacked TV for free as well as many of the latest films.
If I get a month or two out of it before Virgin media cotton on to these devices and block the connections to the streaming sites, I will have got my £30 worth.

General / Trump or Clinton - The final countdown

Both are so old they should be barred from taking office in my view.
That said, if Trump gets in, I can see America spiralling downwards and potentially the start of a full scale World War. If Clinton gets in I suspect things will be better but Trump wont take it lying down.
