FZS600 Fazer / Re: Something Oily Leaking From Alternator Area????
« on: 06 April 2012, 11:34:02 am »
well i took my bike around to my friends house after i lost my fight with tears and gained a lovely black middle finger (cant wait to show it my bosses)  :lol

he found that i have WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much oil in and ended up draining nearly a litre out.... his thinking is that possibly i had too much in causing too much pressure and forcing the hot runny golden stuff out.....

im keeping my eye on it for now....
i'll let you all know... got a feeling i will have to replace that crank seal thou.... will hgave to be a job for after next week when i get paid....  :\

Fazerider: i just use Lube every week or so depending on how much i ride it.... there is too much for it to be just from the chain plus its too far forward.....

mcyoungy: i have just checked the oil leve and cannot see anything but a black screen.... gave it a shake and saw the little golden bubble appear from the top which has now got me thinking if i have overfilled with oil???

I am down to 2 options.........either its over filled and leaking out to get rid or....

the rubber seal into the Alternator has gone.... the guy in the shop thinks it might be that which would explain my electrical problems of late???
its either £6 for the original part but i have to strip the engine to get it out.... or £23 for the alternative part but if i still have an original i will still have to strip engine to get it out??

I feel like just getting rid as its one problem after another with it  :(

also... just busted my finger trying to tighten up the bolts  :'(

chain is fine, the oil is coming from the alternator area....
theres a breather pipe that runs underneath it i think but nothing is from the front sprocket......

are the alternators incased in liquid? someone mentioned to me that some bikes have a wet mag n some are dry?

Been to the Wirral Egg Run today which is a fair old jaunt for us in the midlands.....
but when i got back i noticed an oily patch on the floor?
i also then noticed it was all over the left side of the bike and my left boot?
Any ideas where is from or what it could be?

p.s. ive also noticed since that there is a oily patch in the shed after a closer inspection so i expect its been going for a while  :'(

i must say, i rode home last nightfrom work, or should say sunday morning and reached the local 24hr garage around 4am, i did for once catch the young girls attention and ask her if she wanted to take my lid off, she greatfully said yes please but let me sit on the bike, once she saw i was female though she also said at the window "we dont get many women riding, dont worry about your helmet next time"

How did you get that wheely bin on the back !

That is a secret that only those of the local council estate can know.... its much easlier to hide the pieces i hit off the cars in a wheely bin.... top boxes get full too quick  :lol

Im a yam yam,
i usually just say British as I have a very P.C. job and cant be seen as discriminitive in any way...

but then with Irish and English blood in me then the fact that i spend 50% of my time in Wales and my great great grandparents being from Scotland......

Im proud to be English for the History of it but with the mix up i have.... i cant be anything but a Yamma!

Ive said this before, use the Pay At The Pump systems....

That way no need to take your lid off and you dont even have to get off your bike to pay  :rollin

to be fair i have a garage across the road from my house, he makes everyone take their lid off except for me... ive been going there with my car and bike for 7 years though so i dont think hes too bothered....

although few weeks ago one garage made my missus take off her lid to pay while i filled up, but then let me go into the shop and use the toilet with my lid still on..... i think some have cameras by the tills and so they have to see full face.... but i agree with the Burka thing... try it next time  :lol

« on: 01 March 2012, 05:48:39 pm »
I have a lot, and i mean A LOT of travellers around me, we have 5 sites within 1 mile of my house and the street behind us are mostly travellers that have moved in, we never have problems around here and are alwasy the perfect people if u need a hand...
usually when you lock your keys in the car and dont want to set the alarm off  :lol

yes we have the odd 1 or 2 rogues but most of them are civil, a lot of people give bikers bad names as do a few travellers, closing everything when the opportunity to gain more custom seems a little out there for me but then I live around them soo  :\

They are entitled to this way of life the same as we are entiltled to ride bikes and meet up, we are seen as a nusance to some same as they to your area?!?!

sorry, i hate to argue but theres nothing funnier then watching all the kids on the estate running around with police and adults trying to catch a horse or pony thats escaped  :lol

ive been and had my battery and everything checked, we are looking at the Regulator/ Rectifier, the battery is fine but the second the lights come on it plummets below 10 so i cant ride with my lights at the moment, have bought a replacement from EvilBay and will see how it goes!

Will let you know once its here!
