I’d take the long levers for £10posted?

No sorry. It would cost me a fiver to post. So that would mean I was selling them for a fiver. Rather throw them in the skip. Call it 15 quid though.

2
Seat Cowl white as new, Powerbronze double bubble screen, titanium and red brake and clutch levers. As new rear shock (taken off new bike) and 2 x air filters. Givi Rack system complete with fittings and instructions. £135 for the lot plus £10 postage. Bargain.

Or offers on each individual part. All parts fit FZ8 or Fazer 8.

Cheers

I fitted factory racing 28mm fat bars with lower profile.  I purchased a 28mm fat bar riser adaptor from ebay.  Worked well.

If you are talking about a fazer 8, only one headlamp comes on with normal dipped.  Both are on with full beam.

Nope.  Weather was too severe for that period.  But managed a 4 day Tour of Wales instead.

you could cut out the rear cowl if you were brave enough, or just replace the top section of the rear cowl, not cheap, FYI, genuine Yamaha pillion grab handles are around 100 quid per side.

No they are not.  £79 quid odd for the pair.

I've just got myself a Fazer 8 and it came with the rear carrier, i've searched on the forum and from reading here http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?topic=6987.0 it looks like i cant simply replace that with the standard rear grab handles as the cut-outis visibly larger.

Basically does this mean i have to replace the whole rear tail cowl to return it to the standard fitment with standard rear grab handles.

Done this in May, was not bad a tad chilly but majority was dry. If you can do it without setting dates it helps as you can as mentioned plan a decent weekend. Even if you come up and it is pissing down then have a look at some of the bunkhouse accomodation as its pretty decent, wigwams are good too www.wigwamholidays.com or this bunkhouse http://www.invershin.com/ is good too, cheap and really friendly.

I am in Scotland and may come out for a run with you for part of a day, let me know when your coming.

I have a 3 week window in September to choose from depending on the weather forecasts.  And I'll be camping coz I like camping and it keeps the costs down.

Have a good trip. Looks a good route.  Would join you but can it be possible to get 3 days together with NO RAIN in SCOTLAND? Only like the dry. Sad I know.

R.

I know what you mean.  Don't really like rain too much either.  But September is usually the drier of the months.  But this is a bucket list thing for me so I will do it but not if the forecast is bad.  Only if high pressure coming in.
Cheers

Fazer8 / FZ8 / North Coast 500 on my Fazer 8 soon.........
« on: 07 August 2016, 09:58:56 am »
Well my fellow Fazer fans, in September I will embark on my road trip of my life time.  I am doing the NC500.

Departing Lincolnshire I will be travelling 340 miles on day 1 to the first camp site near Loch Lomond.  Day 2 from there to Applecross.  Day 3 to Sangomore at the top and day 4 down to Loch Lomond again.  Final day back down to Lincolnshire. 1568 miles in total.  It's always been a plan of mine to ride in the Highlands so I thought I might aswell do the NC500 and get the T-Shirt and mug.

All campsites are just arrive and pitch (no pre-booking) and all look to have great amenities.  I intend to cook boil in the bag rations with the odd fish and chips and some ale of an evening (just one mind :D ) and I am taking a small camping cooker, small tent, airbed and sleeping bag.  I have fitted a USB and 12v charger to my Fazer as well as a case for my phone/satnav.  Oil and filter changed, bike ready to go.

I am doing it on my own because none of my mates could stomach the mileage or the camping but I love it.  Any other Fazer riders fancy joining me?  Road trip of a life time.

Has any one here done this trip and do you have any tips?

« on: 11 April 2016, 09:11:29 pm »
I think they both bikes look great - mine only came in black.

With the fat bars, is it the bars themselves that give the 30mm raise or the risers (or both)? What's the difference between the stock bars and these?

The bars are called Rizoma 30mm rise bars.  The standard bars are quite a bit higher.  In effect, even though I have used fat bar adaptors, the bars are slightly lower than standard and that's how I like it and wanted it.

Thanks for the nice comments though guys.

A white front mudguard would make that perfect

Nah......red is the colour for the anniversary edition.  I like it in red.  But I do wish it had the same colour scheme as my Fazers front mudguard.

Just fitted some Rizoma Fat bars (30mm rise) to my FZ8.  Transformed the look and the feel.  I love em.

And I decided on a Lextek Titanium exhaust.  Love that too.
