Hi Guys
I am at my wits end cannot remove oil filter tried by hand at first then tried a strap then as a last resort did the screwdriver thing through the filter still no joy went to my local dealer got a cup that fits over filter the proper tool for the job but because I had damaged the filter trying the screwdriver idea the cup now slips round not sure what to try next the filter was only fitted last September by my local dealer just do not know what to do next.

So long as it's 10w40 semi synthetic and specifically for motorbikes (very important) then the size of your wallet makes the choice,
Personally I'm happy with the Halford's oil!
Just remember to replace the drain plug washer with a new one!

Thanks Guys good thinking about the drain plug washer Punkstig.

General / MT-09 Test
« on: 23 November 2013, 07:28:32 pm »
Hi everyone
My local bike shop was kind enough to loan me a new Yamaha MT-09 for 2 hours today! Here is my verdict:
It's blisteringly fast and very agile! I mean, the acceleration is stunning; I had trouble keeping front end down. It reminded me of a trials bike. It was quite jerky but great fun. Would I swap my Fazer for it? No way, I got back on my Fazer after my 2 hour test drive on the MT-09 and it was so much smoother and much more comfortable. The MT-09 is a fun bike and I enjoyed my test drive, however its not for me, this is just my personal opinion.
Thanks

Hi TC
Your story very similar to mine I am 57 in February Had 125s back in the seventy's  then 4 years ago brought a Yam YBR125 which was great fun then Last week I brought a 600 Fazer and love it. Also I tend to play a lot of Call of Duty Black ops now is this a mid life crisis or just childish lol good luck with your Bike mate.

jusy pulling your leg matey....so,you must have it by now....what do you think of fazer ownership ?  :)

Red  I have been on a 60 mile trips this morning (Sunday 1st Sept) I loved every moment of it the bike was stunning I was with 2 mates one on a Triumph 1050 triple (which just went like shit) and other lad was on a old Kawasaki 750 Ninja. Had so much fun needless to say this trip did involve a large full English Breakfast. The Fazer is in its element on winding Country roads. Anyway Red looking forward to this Sunday coming the 8th cos I am going on a charity run usually hundreds of Bikes attend I have been for passed 4 Years on my YBR125 so looking forward to using my new Bike.
Thanks for your interest.

Nice looking bike mate, standard end can, tidy forks & general condition is indicating low mileage & those stainless downpipes dont look like theyve been on the bike long.

Im gonna take a guess at 15k miles on the clock?

Hey good guess Not to far out 19k.

I pick up my 2001 600 Fazer tomorrow (Friday 30th Aug)  its a big jump for me cos I have been riding a YBR 125  for the past 4 years. I had an hour test ride on the Fazer on Tuesday and did not want to take it back lol hope to make many friends in here.
Thanks for reading.
