Strange how many people on this forum who don't read the Daily Mail seem to know what is written in it.

I think you would be looking for aftermarket ones as I don't think the FZ1n has them fitted as standard.

Like Darssi, I feel short changed, let down and discarded, all our thoughts on this topic and waking early in the mornings to rush to our desktops and laptops, some to their smartphones to be told 'it was a clip on type'
Like has been said not even a fucking photo of said clip or clips, that's the thanks we get for all out concerns, worrying and sleepless nights because of this problem, how fucking selfish can the man get.  :lol :rolleyes :eek

I thought you were meant to be working on that C90? :rolleyes

I am, C90 completely stripped, swing arm off, front forks off, and the frame and panels all sand blasted, all back to nice clean metal ready for a complete respray, all new cables, front brake, throttle, choke, speedo. New back shocks, new bush set for the link front forks, new battery. Clutch plates and gasket set. New oil sieve/filter, air filter, two new Continental Conti tyres and tubes, all the paint and clear coat, plus the heat resistant engine case spray paint.
Still to purchase brake shoes back and front, hopefully that will be it.
Looking to be riding it in about May.

Someones been busy! :)

Liberal amounts of WD40 or something similiar then when you get it moving remove the sidestand and clean the pivot bolt, pivot hole etc up, put a light smear of grease on the pivot area and refit, job done.

The tailpiece looks like its off a 70s racebike, and are those built in wings on the front fairing? I thought they were banned.

When I first got my gen2 after selling my gen1 I fitted the Blueflame can from the gen1 to the gen2 using the gen1 link pipe, it just meant the strap for the hanger was in a different position, didn't look right though. :\

General / Re: Givi rack arms...What are they made of.
« on: 13 January 2018, 07:52:39 PM »
Probably just an extruded flat steel tube, Givi describe them as a " full metal construction" but don't specify what metal. As  Grahamm says they do rust easily.

Many many years ago I replaced an exhaust on a neighbours daughters Honda Melody, complete with basket on front, and the nuts on the exhaust studs were brass or something very similiar. They just rounded off straight away and I ended up using a small chisel to split the nuts, easy to do with brass ones. But put steel ones on as replacements.

AMAZON....bought a few things from amazon over thd last month , I gave them my email as easiest form of contact , since them ive been bombarded with amazon emails so I scrolled down to the bottom of the last message an unsubscribed....

what do amazon do  ?.............yep , send me an email to say I have unsubscribed     :wall

The good thing about unsubscribing   :rolleyes  is that it confirms to the perpetrator of the email that the receiving email account is accessed and not just an account used for rubbish. they now know for certain that the address is alive. :'(

And send you more from companies whose products  might be " of interest to you". :wall

The pipes hanging down to the side of the engine are in that position so that if anything does drip from them it is not in the path of the back tyre.
If the cables from the exup are disconnected has the exup valve been removed or is it seized?
Either way no exup will affect the low down running on a gen1, and new ones are very expensive and secondhand working ones are very rare.

Don't worry about the goverment losing tax revenue from cigs, they are just replacing that revenue with plans to raise tax on alcohol, salty snacks, chocolate, sweets etc because they are all bad for you so they are just doing it for your own good.

I couldn't hang on and I fell off, caught my bloody foot in the stirrup and the horse just wouldn't stop :eek :eek  Thankfully the manager at Toys-R-Us came out and unplugged the machine. How many of you actually read what I wrote? If you did, feel free to copy and paste for someone else to have a laugh. People need to laugh now & again. Merry Yule

Report the seller to ebay for selling an item that  is not as described and ask for your money back including return postage.
Even if the seller has stated no returns you are still entitled to a full refund.

And people who have a fag constantly hanging out of their gob whilst driving without appearing to ever take it out to tip the ash.

Bloody vapers are worse, either they have windows down laying down a smokescreen like a WW2 destoyer or the windows are closed and it looks like a smoke bomb has gone off inside the car, people seem unable to let go of the foccing things!

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Oil level window
« on: 15 December 2017, 10:27:14 PM »
I once changed oil on my gen1 1000 and put too much in so that the oil level filled the whole window.
I put a small jug under the sump plug and eased it off untill oil started to seep out slowly whilst my son watched the oil sight glass, when he saw it level with the top mark he told me to tighten the plug back up. We measured the amount of oil removed,  it was less than 125ml.
So it could be overfilled only by a small amount :)  .
Also how level is the ground where you are checking the oil level?  I always check mine in my garage as I did the garage base myself and know it is flat, the bubble in my level is as near to the middle as I could get get it.

Hate it all, the cards, overpriced tat, but most especially how long it goes on for. It seems to start in September and finish in February, what was a two day holiday of xmas day and boxing day is now a 7 to 10 day holiday period with firms closing just because its xmas.

Thats what I thought he meant, a stepped gauge.
I used to have a spark plug gap measurer that looked something like your sketch.
