If they are just pinholes, then chemical metal is your friend.

I was hoping someone on here might have a set, don’t want to pay £150 each.

Mine was misfiring yesterday. I found that the vacuum hose to the no 4 carb was missing the bund I put in it after the sis removal.

The relays in the alarm can fail, stranding you. Happened to me twice, then it went in the bin.

I was there last Sunday, the queue for food was bad enough then, what’s it like when 500 turn up? Not for me thanks.

I leave my sprocket carrier and Cush drive on for balancing. Never had an imbalance

Having searched the net a bit it seems to be a very common problem and is down to a firmware error on the pc3. Its possible to fix a home if your savvy with a computer.
It involves wiping then re flashing the pc3 with the latest firmware.
There are guides online but just depends if you want to give it a go

It’s gone back now.

Snapped an exhaust stud off now.

was it the 3 software and not the 5 ?  http://www.powercommander.com/powercommander/downloads/powercommander_downloads.aspx?ProdType=PCIIIUSB     download the firmware then the maps choose a map then connect to power commander and press install.  give it a go what you got to lose ? i had a disc but used same procedure

It’s a pciii usb.
The software will not ‘see’ the pc. Even the pcprog software to update the firmware won’t see it. I’ve read that the pc can become locked and needs to be reset somehow by dynojet.

I’m sending it back for refund so if anyone has one for sale let me know

I used the latest software, from the site as the pc didn’t come with a disc. Used a ubs lead - they are all the same aren’t they? What I can’t find out is what the firmware is in the pc, cos I can’t talk to it! I said to the seller, even if it worked on the bike, I’d need to change the map if I wanted a custom one or if it was sold on and used on an R1 or something, so it’s no good to me.

If you read this it says the volts should not increase really when you rev the bike as long as your getting 14.2 at the battery, stop worrying and go ride your bike, when the snows gone.

Go with the eBay jobs, stainless or titanium, cheap enough and the right shape too

Have you connected the earth wire and got a good earth?
Check the the connector between the bikes loom and the power commander, mine were quite hard to get fully seated together correctly.

Also I have heard that the 9V battery needs to be new for it to give the necessary voltage.
Done all that, new 9.56 v battery.....pc lights stay on ok, usb plugs in and pings on the laptop but no comms.

looks like Mustang and Disorderlypunk have been scared off  :\

Not scared off but couple of things. I get back from Tenerife stupid o’clock Friday morning, so I have to drop the mother in law back home then missus n daughter, sort their shit out then get the bike together and ride up. Is anyone riding up from the Midlands I could join?

The other thing is I am a bit of a boring fart tbh, but I can pretend to like beer n bullshit I suppose.

I could probably do with a decent ride on the bike after a week away so I’ll break it too her gently over Teheran next few days and hopefully I’ll be there.

Edit, I’m coming so I’ve sent you an email for the bank details, deposit.  Just reserve me a place in the fast group for Saturday.

does anyone on here have any experience with these? Just got one for my FZ1, connected up to laptop to check what map was in it but won’t communicate as it needs external power. so I took sellers word that the map is off a FZ1 and an Akro can, can’t do any harm . Wired it up to the bike and fitted the o2 eliminator plug, bike won’t start. Just cranks, pc leds flash then go off. Tried to connect to the laptop with it on the bike, won’t communicate.
Have connected 9v battery to pc3 and tried to communicate with laptop, no deal.

Am at al loss really as it’s plug n play and the seller assures me it was fully working.

Seller is from Stoke way so fairly local, I’ve asked him if he can help.

In the meantime can anyone else help?

Hi Mike, It was a real pleasure to watch you work and listen to your words of wisdom when you came to Ivanise my bike. It's a shame that others will miss out on the opportunity to watch you work but I'm sure you will still be on hand on the forums to share your wisdom. I was wandering if there would be any merit in you getting a couple of sets of carbs / rubbers / air filter housings so you could provide a postal service where folks would send you their bits and you could send them out the Ivanised bits on receipt? Faced with this option or messing with the bits myself I would be happier to remove and send you the bits that needed modding knowing that the work would be to the highest standard and turnaround would be down to postage. Just a thought.

Thanks, mate.  Don't know about words of wisdom but it was fun to chat with everyone while I was working. :)

I've considered the exchange parts idea in the past but discounted it for a few reasons.  The first is the shipping costs to/from Spain would be quite high.  Second, I've found that DIY owners have had as many problems with removing/refitting the carbs as with doing the mods to the internals.

Leading on from this, anything they do incorrectly in refitting the carbs could cause issues which have now't to do with mods I've done but which I would feel obligated to try and resolve from a distance.  Not easy, especially as older Thous are now showing up with ignition-related misfires that present as carb faults.

Maybe I should try recording a few videos for Youtube  ...  :)

Hi Mike, hope you will enjoy your retirement, I was considering ivanising my bike, a series of YouTube videos would be a Fantastic legacy and be of infinite help to many people. Could take a lot off effort though.
