Introduction / Hello from West Sussex

Hi I am Neil I live in West Sussex had a Fazer 1000 for a few years now I found my way here from a link posted on the Yamaha Diversion Club, I still frequent their pages even though I have moved on from my Divi & thought I might aswell find out what goes on in the online Fazer world :)

This is a brief pictorial history of my biking so far.

I first came of a bike 1 month before I was born my dad had just got a Cotton trials bike and my mum wanted a go not realizing it was so low geared she wheelied up the road and came of the back about a month later I appeared.
Then I vaguely remember being taken out in a big sidecar with my sister possibly and my cousins don't know whose that was.
Next bank holiday Brighton 1965 on the back of my dads BSA C15 we rode in and my dad took one look at what was going on and legged it back home.
When I was 14 my mum had a Honda C50 I used to take it up and down the road when they were out Until I got caught when they came back early.
A variety of old track bikes were then played with with my mates which spent more time in pieces than running.
Wow now 16 bu***r just got caught by the sixteener law maybe my mum should have bounced a little harder 16 years ago as I had  a loverly BSA Bantam lined up. So it was an NSU Quickly for me. I actually had 2 as thrashing the nuts of them made then rather unreliable.

Not Mine but had one just like it.

Also not Mine but had one just like This to.

Seventeen areal bike this time a Suzuki TS90.

Also not Mine but had one just like This to

Ran it until the disk valves played up and as I needed a cheap bike for work I Got a CZ 175

Not mine again I passed my test on one like this.

Wanting a trail bike again I got a Suzuki TS250

Wanting to get more dirty my next bike was a Beamish Suzuki RL 250

These were basically the works bikes rebuilt locally by Beamish Motors who were the importers of all Suzuki dirt bikes at the time.

Next It was back to trailers I read a road test of the new Suzuki SP370 in MCN and went straight round to the local shop and ordered one.

fantastic bike but maybe I should have waited as th DR came out about 9 months later.

At the same time as my main bikes I had a Francis Barnet175

like this I got it as a rolling chassis and a box of bits I got it running but not complete so sold it to someone with more time and patients.

Also a Norton 250 Jubilee

not like this one mine was in a Sprite trials frame with a Sprite trials chair( could not find a picture like that ) got rid of that as i kept running over my leg with the chair.

Also had a Montessa cota 247 which I swapped my Mk2 2 Liter Triumph Vitesse for when I got a company car wonder which I worth more now.

Then no bikes but house mortgage and family.

2001 "if you want a bike why don't you buy one" that was all I needed to be told I think she was fed up with me drawling every time i saw a bike I liked.
Not having a lot of spare cash I thought an XS650 Yamaha would be a good way back in and I wanted one when they came out.

This was my Xs it got bent when I was knocked of it while crossing a yellow box junction by a car on the wrong side of the road overtaking the stationary traffic he had a witness said he was on the right side of the road I lost My first bike accident at 47.
sold it to a mate who has now got it up and running.

So I got my divi a fast green 900.

My first car was a bike??? at 18 after passing my bike test I got a bond minicar with a 250 Villiers engine in it kept it for a while till my dad said i would kill myself in it so he would teach me to drive.

like this but in racing green.

Now have Fazer 1000

New addition 2001 HD Sportster 883 Hugger
