General / Fazer pushed over....gutted!
« on: 17 January 2018, 06:37:13 pm »
Monday is bad enough as it is this time of year but was made a whole lot worse when my bike was purposely pushed over whilst parked outside my office window. Long story short. A carer was walking back to his car with a client, the client pushed my bike over stating that it was in his way. I rush out ready to knock 10 bells out of them both effing and jeffing. The carer was very apologetic, the client is down syndrome.......my heart sank, I took a deep breath and asked the carer for full details. The downs fella has public liability insurance but unfortunately will not cover all damage to the bike as it will cost more to repair than what the book price of the bike is worth. It's looking like I will have to put up with a ding in the tank and exhaust. Upper fairing will be replaced as will indicator, bar end and break lever. Rear fairing is being De-stickered, buffed and new stickers added. Crash bung won't be replaced either.
She's a right mess, like I said....gutted:-(

General / Helmet cam mounting
« on: 12 May 2017, 11:02:44 am »
I've seen the thread from last year where it got a bit heated with salad eating etc so thought it best I start a new topic. If there is another topic just like this then I do apologize and would welcome me being linked to it.

I use my bike every day whatever the weather to commute 7 miles each way between Morecambe (live) to Lancaster (work)
So after speaking with the wife we agreed it would be a good idea to get myself a helmet camera. Now I know I am not perfect and I do make mistakes but generally speaking I think I ride safely however if I was in an accident and it wasn't my fault then video footage would hopefully help my case. The camera is nothing special, cost me £20 off ebay and I have a 16gb micro SD card which lasts an hour or so of recording. every couple of days I take the camera off the helmet to recharge and wipe the SD card clean, very simple no inconvenience at all. I do upload to Youtube but it is not to point the finger at crap drivers or to name and shame, I use my ride out footage to accompany my music I create (other hobby) rather than just focusing on me playing my Synths and drum machine, I think it makes more a more pleasant video for the viewer.

Anyway the reason I started this is to ask if any of you have managed to successfully mount a camera onto your helmet without any issues? Is there any mounting kits out there you know of? I have mine attached with gaffer tape and velcro straps, sure it looks a mess but as it's my old lid from when I first started riding a couple of years ago I am not too bothered but I am currently looking into buying a better helmet and wouldn't want it to look like this. To be honest other than the way it look it works an absolute treat :D

Introduction / Hello all FZS 600 my 1st bike
« on: 25 April 2017, 10:05:12 pm »
I have just joined your forum so hello all.
Been riding just over 2 years (Honda cbf125) and last month passed my test.
I am now a proud owner of a 2002 FZS600 Fazer and absolutely love her.
Signing up to your site seemed the right thing to do as I am boring my friends and family to death with bike talk so I look forward to chatting with like minded folk.
So yeah hello again☺
