Perhaps some of you can relate to this, your wife loathes you riding, plus thinks a motorbike is like satan (or that's where I'll end up).

Forget about the content and enjoyment I get out of ownership, maintaining, plus riding the bike - that is not a part of her rational thinking.
Forget about the fact it is also TRANSPORT, costs much less to run and maintain, also gets me to work much faster. My bike infact helps keep me sane!

In her defence, there has been a couple of "mishaps" during my 'riding career'. However this has not fazed me from riding at all. "Bike Life" innit. :)
It's come down to this: I've been given 1 week to sell the motorbike, or she threatens to attack it with a hammer! Yes she has anger management issues.

It's been fun while it lasted.  :finger  :uhuh  :look

FZS600 Fazer / Changing a Tyre yourself ?
« on: 25 May 2018, 01:23:42 pm »
Hello all,

Looking at picking up a new front tyre. Wheel is not currently on the Bike.

Anyone recommend removing existing tyre/fitting a new one myself? Is there an easy way to do this? :)
Or it's too difficult a job without proper tools and taking it to a bike mechanic/garage is preferred?

A consideration, this is a replacement (2nd hand) Wheel that I've picked up, however not used before.
Perhaps it's safer to get a garage to do it so they can check this wheel over, plus ensure its properly balanced.

General / GoKarts / offroad buggys - where could i use it "legally" ?
« on: 25 April 2018, 05:34:17 pm »
Hi guys,

I've been interested in buying a GoKart / offroad buggy for some time, something to play with, also for the educational / mechanical interest.
I don't own a field I could use it in, so what other options / locations are there??

I'm at the top of the M25, so somewhere reasonably close, however would be happy to 'cart it around' (pun intended) if needs be on a trailer.  :)

General / Would you buy a Category "N" Write-off ?
« on: 14 March 2018, 01:00:31 pm »
Hello guys,

So running a new Vehicle check and my 'accident damaged' Fazer now shows as a Cat N.
Category N is the new Category D - the LEAST serious category, cosmetic damage only, NOT structural.

I know reading the words "write-off" sends a shiver down your spine, plus 'bike looping through the air over a car several times', kind of visions.  :eek  :lol

It was nothing like that, plus am already sourcing the Parts to get the bike back on the road - to RIDE (not to sell on)... Only front forks got bent / headlight / nose fairing cracked.

What's the legal process with a Cat "N", and putting it back onto the road (legally) - can anyone in the Trade confirm please?
On a sports bike this would be just a few pieces of fairing and she's as good as new!

FZS600 Fazer / T-Boned a car
« on: 31 January 2018, 08:34:06 am »
Hello all,

So my first Post and seeking help!  :rolleyes

Was involved in a RTA car pulls across my path to get into a side road.  I had nowhere to go and effectively T-Bone the side of the car. Approx 30mph.

Front forks bent back a few inches/twisted but not as extreme as touching the radiator etc. However what symptoms should i be looking for concerning bent headstock or frame?

Dont want to commit to spending £100's putting a new front end on only to find there's a noticeable twist to the new forks/wheel due to hidden damage further back.

any feedback greatly appreciated.
(oh plus its a mk1 fazer).
