Title: Rugby World Cup
Post by: Robbie8666 on 18 September 2015, 01:51:48 pm
Anyone got tickets for any of the games?
Who do you reckon will win?
are you going to avoid it?

Me: I'm not going to any matches!, I would love England to win but tbh I enjoy watching good games and as long it isn't won by bad refereeing (which is rare in rugby IMHO) I'm just going to sit & watch it at home with my family!!

:agree

I don't have any tickets but my Mrs and youngest have tickets to a game at the Millennium and my eldest has tickets for him and his girlfriend to see a different game there along with one in Exeter. Personally I think you see more on the TV. OK you don't get the atmosphere but that's not worth £200+

Tonight I will be at the local rugby club watching the game with cheap beer whilst some people I know are off to Twickenham.

The biggest problem I have is half term. The final is that week and my youngest doesn't want to go away with us to France because the World cup is in England. Got a TV in the house over there and the local bar has a TV too so he should be able to see all the games still.

Got tickets for Wales v Fiji and Wales v Australia,

A bit pissed at the prices, especially as the IRU promised not to rip off the fans as FIFA did in Brazil, but it is only once every four years.

Can't wait for it to start now.

Local Rugby club is going to be my friend.....again.

Ireland V New Zealand in the final. Ireland to win it with a drop kick, Okay I am on the Bushmill's lol.
Be great to just watch 30 guys giving it their all, not like them fannies that play football. My 20 month old grand daughter was sitting on my knee the other week watching footie. I thought she had thrown a wobbly leaps off my knee and is rolling about on the carpet as if she had been pool axed, nearly burst a gut lol.

While I prefer it to soccer with all those overpaid drama queens, I'll be avoiding it.
In fact, I'll probably take time off work to do so as the Twickenham matches will make the commute to work even more of a pain since they've decided to close the A316 on match days.

Thought Japan were going to get steam rolled but christ, one of the best matches I've seen in a long time. Probably in the top 5 of all time displays of pride, passion and determination. To take a scrum and go for the win with minutes left when they could of settled for a draw was pure confidence and passion - I was cursing them for not settling for a draw. Total respect to to the Japan boys  :woot

Funny thing Rugby, it takes the best part of 89,000 Irishmen & woman+ a few Romanians to fill Wembley Stadium.
Makes me laugh England say they have a tough group ? well looks as if they were right. Maybe there are no Welsh men on here but I reckon their group just got a bit easier now.
 :rollin :rollin :rollin
Sorry being Irish that may come back to bite me on the bum lol :) :)

On the basis that Fiji do well against a now very depleted Wales team group A will go down to the wire.

England v Australia and Wales v Australia will be the deciding games to see who gets out of the group stages.

Some good games so far. Some going the way people expected and others surprising a few people (South Africa!).

The Mrs is off to Cardiff for the Wales v Fiji game on Thursday wearing an England shirt and holding a "Come on Fiji" banner :rollin

Come on England

Fiji's star player Nandolo, the 20 stone wing, has been suspended for a week after a dangerous tackle in the game against Australia. Wales will beat Fiji without him. After that display of indiscipline on Saturday I can't see England beating Australia, Wales neither. Still think it will be Wales and Australia that will qualify for the Quarter Finals in Group A. Good results for us against Japan and USA which we played quite well, and getting the extra bonus point in each game too.....now for the real tests against South Africa and Samoa.....not holding out much hope but would be great to get through....not being negative, just realistic.

Getty a bit squeaky bum time now with all the injuries, shortish turn around since Saturday and Fiji being a bit of a World Cup bogey side for Wales, but going to be in Cardiff Thursday with my son cheering as hard as I can

Been walking around the office with a big cheesy grin since Monday (live in England see) and going to start using 28 on the lottery  :lol

With Owen Farrell at fly half, we're f*cked. Negative selection.

I thought the Wales v Fiji game was really good. The Fijians really disrupted the Welsh game and put up a great fight right to the end. FFS, they even went on to try for a try well after the clock had gone red just to prove a point to the sheep shaggers (and get a bonus point). That said, when the Welsh go t the ball back, they tried for a bonus point to.

Well done Fiji, you played brilliantly. I suspected the score would be close and wasn't disappointed.

Just need England to beat the Ausies (not sure if they can at the moment) and then it will be down to points difference to see who goes through to the next round IMHO.

The All Blacks were playing England, and after the half-time whistle blew they found themselves ahead 50-0, Jonah Lomu getting eight tries. The rest of the team decided to head for the pub instead of playing the second half, leaving Jonah to go out on his own. "No worries," Jonah told them, "I'll join you later and tell you what happened." After the game Jonah headed for the pub where he told his teammates the final score: 95-3. "What!!!!" said a furious Josh Kronfeld, "How did you let them get three points??!" Jonah replied apologetically, "I was sent off with 20 minutes to go."

what I don't understand why did you think you where going to beat wales,?     the all time stat,s are one game in your favour, it,s about 65/ 66.     the world ranking are not fact but we are second, lol ,       I think it was because halfpenny was injured,??? and the press hype.        one man doesn't make a team,  have a great day tomz skipper and have a drink for me.      lew Ireland are great and will go a long way.       but we all know who is going to win.

I never thought that for for one minute. As I said to my 10yr old lad - Wales are the assassins of Rugby, you never know when they are going to take you out.

Anybody else seen this post match interview by Mike Brown ? It was shown on Scrum V last night. All I will add is bunch of fannies, England should do themselves a favour and stop talking themselves up every time even before a ball is kicked. Outplayed and outclassed last night. The Aussies looked good. Ireland and Wales will just go quietly about their business without all the hipe and mouthing off. Come on Ireland give it your best no one can ask you to give more than simply your best.
Never ever be fool enough to rule out the French, they may spoil everyone's party.

I agree Lewis England rolled over and died, bad selection and a bunch of players who looked like they couldn't be bothered.
I agree the Irish just get on with it which i like but to say that the Welsh do the same is a complete lie, they are the masters of bigging themselves up and mouthing off and Gatland is the God of it. Case in point the 2015 Six nations game, the stupid disco, the "we not going out until they do" bollocks. Who won that game?

Wales won't get to the final, don't think the Irish will having only JUST beaten Italy.

SOOOO………… Allez Les Blues for me now.

your prob right skipper, as in the bigging up bit, being neighbours that's what they do,       as for us winning we didn't deserve to win with so many injururies, and people playing out of position but we did.      will we win no lol,     but its not a bad position to be in your fortress has had a few smash and grabs in the last week.   :eek at least the boys are having a go, cant ask for more.

I totally agree Wales are playing above their weight, in terms of injuries, and total credit to them. But with a squad that ravaged by injury i can't see them going all the way, same for Scotland and Ireland. France are playing well and have a good chance, I just don't want the cup to go to another southern hemisphere side.
