New Rider New Fazer Owner, New Addict (Portsmouth)
« on: 23 February 2014, 09:55:53 am »
New to biking and new to Fazers,

Picked up 02 Foxeye in October 13 had only done a genuine 3000 miles.

Thanks to moving from Glasgow to Portsmouth and being a commuter bike it's now done 5000 and so far I'm loving it.

Planning a European tour on her in September to the Alps and Pyrenees.

Only 5k miles wawaweewa!!! She's a beaut

Shame she's in slow blue though! ;)

Welcome to the site buddy, any mods planned?, may i suggest some crash bars as a priority which will save you allot of money "when" you drop it :eek  (It's a 600 thing).

That bike will last you forever & still keep up with most if ridden properly.

Lots of info on here....i also suggest using the foc-u search engine and typing "front sprocket nut"...a known fault requiring a thicker nut....with your bike having such low mileage it may well have the old style nut on it.

Cheers

I know it's not 'fast black' but I love the colour!

Already done screen, bar ends, mirrors, LED indicators,

Exhaust goes on next week.

Crash bars are a must! I left it on the centre stand in the wind and it fell over (Rookie error) It has a cracked rear fairing and a scratched front, it's also the reason for the new mirrors as one of them snapped too!

Other than repairing the damage and removing some graphics I need to spray the belly pan it's not a perfect match and I fancy a new seat oh and I want to remove the alarm but since I'm not sure how to do that yet it can wait until the summer.

I'll check out the Nut as your right it might not have been done the MOTs and Service book show that this has spent most of its life in a garage one year it only covered 200 miles!

Good luck with the repairs, plenty help on here if needed.

If the repairs go tits up i might just happen to have a rear section fairing in exactly your colour lying in my shed, is it the near or off side????

What kind of condition is it in?

I've been cconsidering a whole new tail section both sides and the top section that I've seen for £66 but it would be easier and cheaper to just change one side.

Here we go

Seen better days cosmetically but no major cracks or breaks.maybe not quite the standard you're bike needs though since it is so pristine.

Pics of the dodgy bits.

The other side has a small piece taken out (i have the piece) could be welded back on.

Think ideally i'd like to keep the centre section to see how it looks on my bike.

Trust me that's I'm much better condition than the one I've got on atm.

I'm going to have a go at fixing it as much for the experience as anything else.

I'm not expecting to do a great job but you've got to learn! Then I'll decide what to do as a permant fix. I'll keep this in mind the side I need doesn't look so bad, so it depends what you'd be looking for?

Cool

Well get back to me if needs be.

I'd say £20 plus p&p & ill throw in the other side as a useable spare.

There it is.

Like the gold wheels, look nice with blue.

You're very small, aren't you........?

And you haven't quite got the hang of the Foccer salute yet  :\

Yes I'd be up for that now the days are getting longer.

It'd be good to meet up with some Foccers.
