The 600 and 1000 are different shapes.

Have a look on one of the French (or other) expat forums as there are always people looking for EU lights for their British spec bikes they have taken over to France etc

Rusty around the top or the bottom?

If its the top, check the crap flap position and the drain holes in the head.
If its the bottom, you have a problem!

Petrol floats on water so I would suggest contaminated water.

I thought it fired 1-2-4-3... but then perhaps I have the cams spinning the wrong way inside my head?! (the cams spin in the same direction as the wheels no? or the other way).
 :look

1-2-4-3 or 1-3-4-2 doesn't make much difference really. the important part id that 1 & 4 are on the same coil and 2 & 3 are on the same coil.

2001 Boxeye?
If so, do the dual headlight mod if it hasn't been done already.

If I remember correctly. The firing order is 1-3-4-2 and the coil on the left should connect to #1 & #4 with the coil on the right to #2 & #3

My son sold his moped last week and the sale/transfer site is only available 7 till 7. The v5 will only take a couple of days to come through though so crack on and use the bike then tax it when you get the v5.
If the seller goes online to do the "sale" then you can go online to tax it the same day they "sell" the bike.

is it when braking? If so could be just the pads sliding in the calipers.
If not, it does sound like head bearings are not as good as you think

Think it is something to do with price speed hump ¬£200 set of Speed averaging cameras  ¬£Quite a lot. Both have the same effect.

Not quite. One generates revenue

Give them a good wipe before you head out for the MOT and hopefully the tester will just ignore it.
If they are weeping though, the level wont go down much at all for a very long time. You should still get them redone though.

If they want it, let them have it. Its only metal (however much you like it) and can be replaced. No point in putting yourself in harms way for a bike.

I do like the exploding seat idea above though. Something that can be operated from a distance once they think that they have got away with it.
