go, it's had an exciting life, commuting from home to London every day for the last 6 years and the occasional track day, advanced rider test thrown in! It's got about 82,000 miles on the clock, engine is sound as a pound, regular oil and filter changes carried out by yours truly since 2011. It was in the shop at 60,000 miles and had the valve clearances done, no adjustment required. The bottom of the rear shock bearing has been changed as it was getting worn, new front wheel bearings fitted also. It's got heated grips and a data tool alarm. Back tyre's good, front has a 1000 miles or so left in it. What it needs: The front brake discs are getting a bit worn and will also need new pads. MOT's till January. Other then the discs it will pass another MOT (IMO) Anyway, £500 or nearest offer, buyer collects, I'll give it a wash...

It's probabably about time (12 yr old Foxeye) that I changed the brake lines... (and fluid!)
What's the easiest replacement set up, standard or race?
Never replaced brake lines before but willing to give it a go

If you go out to start your bike in the morning, say this morning for instance, and it turns over twice and dies you'd be thinking flat battery (and wondering why,,,)
If you put it on charge and 10 minutes later the charger tells you the battery's charged, would this be a reasonable indication that the battery's focced?
It's used every day, not checked the charging yet with a multimeter as I'm still charging the battery but 10 mins on the charger to full looks fishy...

So, doing a POWDER check yesterday (and it's not even MOT time yet!) I noticed that one of my side lights is out and I decided that it's time to replace both of them. I saw another BLUE (in other words, fast) Fazer 600 with these little blue side lights that looked rather good, really.
A couple of things,,, are they strictly legal and where do you get them. Looked at the Yam manual and they're not that clear on the type of lamp quoting: Auxiliary light 12 V, 5 W × 2
SO, before shelling out when I know where to get them from, what's the opinion on the legality here, bearing in mind I ride into central London every day and it's filthy with plod.

As we head into the hottest weekend so far this year, I've decided to buy myself new winter boots!
Bought myself a pair of TCX Infinity gore tex boots after reading a lot of good write ups about them.
They came yesterday, bought them from Sports Bike Shop on line so I was a bit worried about sizing etc.
I bought size 44, same size as my Alpinestar Hydro Sport Dry Star's (yeah right, shower proof more like) and tried them on. Perfect!
Just what they said on the tin, good fit out of the box but will take a bit of wearing in of course.
Chuffed.

anyone had any problems with them?
I have a new lid (blue, of course) that came fitted with a pinlock insert at the shop, I watched her stick it in (oo er)
Now wearing the lid it's like looking through a load of distortion. Is this normal?

I'm due an overhaul on linkages and bearings and was just considering changing fork springs at the same time.....
Anyone have any recommendations?
New fork springs and 10W/15W oil? Just change the oil?
It's an 02 bike and I'm 90 Kgs.

anybody tried them yet? I'm on love film but getting fed up with sending the DVD's back etc and end up not using it as much as I could. So I bought the wife a Kindle Fire HD for Xmas (a bit sneaky but HEY!) with the intention of setting up an on line film account as it has an HDMI out to the TV.
Apparenty she can read books off it as well,,,,,,,,,,

Think it's OK to put stickers on helmets now?
At one point years ago I thought it was not a good idea as it weakened polycarbonate helmets but I've seen some hi viz stickers from Respro...
