In fairness though, it's been you that has spouted most of it.
And that my dear fella, is your opinion, it is not fact.

There's yet another demo today by 2 protest groups in major cities, with a million plus expected, with at least one of the groups insisting that the virus is a hoax. If the second wave does happen, there's your reason why!
But then we live in a world of fake news and alternative facts.  Where extremists, lies and damned lies, are to be tolerated under the name of 'freedom of speech'.

Just look at the shite that has been spouted and tolerated on this forum over the years.  So why the surprise?

When I go in shops etc I wear my mask - I comply.  But frankly who does and who does not ain't my buisiness.

Ogri, is there something wrong with the gravity in England just now?
Yeah the Yamaha is cool, more so with the exhaust fixed with the Akra stuff.  Goodness only knows what Yamaha were thinking when they decided to make that.  They seem to hold value well.  I like em.
I'm not so sure about the Triumph.  Thought the previous Rocket was a stinker.  Obviously I've not riden one, but I just think it would scare the hell out of me - stupid fast, then hard work to get round a corner.  Sure its got go, but really its all show - no?

Not a fan of these efforts, way too weedy for my taste 🤷‍♂️ looks like someone's stuck an engine on a push bike.
I really like the Beemer, I love the way the whole thing flows from front to back, and for once the minimalism really works.  Plus its got an almost surreal comic book look about it.  But it is real and road legal (with a few bits removed for the photoshoot).
It only weights 168kg wet.  Would definately turn heads.

I have been caught not only in foam system discharges but deluges as well, sometimes inspecting them working and sometimes not.
I think I'd be out on my ear if I did that!

Never been in the situation myself but getting covered in the foam is OK, just keep the space in front of your face clear and you can break as the bubbles are full of air.

But it won't feed a fire?

And yeah it would be easy to panic in such a situation, and sometimes you'll never know until it happens - and then it could be too late.
I'm familiar with deluge systems.  They stress to us the active firing system must be disabled before you enter a protected area (there is still limited passive ambient temperature protection).  When it is on active, it will fire a whole zone of heads, and spray out absolute shit loads of water.  It suppresses the oxygen in the enviroment, to the extent it would be a threat to your well being - you might not get out.

I wouldn't like to be in there when that goes off.And surely there must be some sort of major foc-off warning before it goes off - give you a chance to run for your life. But then its the USA - maybe not. :eek

Dunno, some say the latest average speed cameras are front and rear facing.
Also new average speed cameras on the A82 from Crianlarich to Tyndrum.  I'm worried more might be on the way.

So Tracer, ECU needs remap, Suspension needs to be properly and tank range is BAD!!!!.
In fairness I'd say an FZS1000 needs a jet kit (Ivans) and a rear shock.  Plus you need to get rid of the AIS so you can get at the spark plugs.

After a brief spell on a BMW R1200rs which I don't want to talk about
Curious - what went wrong there?  I'm now riding an R1250R (after 16 years with my trusty FZS1000) - which incidently is my first bike with fly by wire, fuel injection, ABS and traction control and a few other bits and bobs.  Oh I love the cruise control - and having proper built in heated grips.  So far so good, I'm happy with and enjoying my purchase.

The fuel injection is a touch off/on when closing and opening the throttle - like approaching but then not stopping for a junction - but I no longer notice it.  In terms of fuelling the bike is standard apart from a road legal SC Porject can (I couldn't stand the look of the OE dustbin) and I can't fault it.  I will not be de-catting it or re-mapping it.

A few niggles - the self-cancelling indicators do just that - they keep cancelling when you don't want them to.  Plus they go onto hazard warning if you brake heavily - which I think is annoying.  The side stand is too long - I have to be careful when parking.  I noticed I can easily catch the gear lever when going for the side stand - ops - no harm done, but now I pull the clutch every time.

I'm happy, I'm just hoping the boxer, now it has been comprehensively reworked and now water/air cooled is reliable - but I've got my 3 year warranty.

It looks like it may be heavy on rear tyres.

This year it seems to have gone bonkers. Everybody is doing it. Lots of sites either full, or not opening toilet blocks.
The country seems to be going crazy.  The Cumbrae ferry was suspended at the weekend due to extreme passenger volume.   70 parking tickets were issued on the road up Rowardennan, the single track road was effectively blocked.
As for camper vans etc, it doesn't help that councils have been penny pinching and closing numerous public toilets.
Quote
So the result is masses wild camping (legit in most of Scotland) all round the route. Problem is the mess left behind. Do campers shit in the woods? They certainly do
Hard won freedoms.  The rule of wild camping is to leave nothing but footprints - literally take your shit with you.  If you are camping for several days then bury your personal waste well away from waterways, and bag and take out any toilet paper you use.
Sadly I suspect many beauty spots will have been trashed at the weekend right across the country.  And it cannot continue like this.
As for those who 'wild camp' at the side of the A82, A84 and other busy roads - I just don't see the attraction.

Anyone else noticed that ever since Covid started people have gone bonfire mad?. I'm guessing they're burning everything the charity shop/tip won't take anymore. I'm forever going round shutting the windows because some inconsiderate twat's stinking us out again >:
I went for a wee spin on the Beemer yesterday.  Exploring around Kingairloch and Morvern, looking out for old phone boxes.  Anyway on my way back hame I couldn't but help notice the number of so called wild campers, and yes their fires.  I headed down Glen Orchy (heading to Dunoon to avoid Loch Lomond), which often has a few folks camped at the side of the road, well it was just stuffed with campers - most of them with camp fires.  Which is fine, as long as its not during a dry spell (its been suitably wet recently), they have brought or built a proper fire pit and have their own firewood etc - all that seems doubtful going by the thick rancid smoke drifting down the glen.  I wouldn't be surprised if the whole shoreline down the River Orchy has been trashed.  Glen Etive will be the same, along with countless other beautiful spots across Scotland.  We've got a real problem now with so called wild camping now.

Eh?. Dudeofrude is opposed to the political threads and Grahamm's complaining that they disappeared. You just said you wanted politics banned from here. How can you be in agreement with both of them?. A politician would be proud of that statement
Read what Grahamm posted.

People were starting to get very bitter towards one another which is a shame as we are all here to share our common interest in bikes and there are some fantastic members here who go out of their way to help others.

The problem is the very people who start politcal threads on say, bike forums, are the very same people who then spit the dummy out and get upset when others express an opposing view.  Also those with extreme views rarely like having their views questioned, and rather than enter into reasoned debate they then get personal.

As has been proven time and time again here on foc-u, that numerous members cannot play nice when it comes to politcal discussion, then is it not about time, and yeah taking into account that this is a bike forum, that politcal threads and debate are finally banned here.

I had previously thought that maybe a politics section should be set up in the Naughty Corner.  But then I finally adjusted my profile settings and had a look in the naughty corner, and wondered what the foc is all that shite doing there anyway.  Profile back to normal.
My suggestion is ban politics - outright.  And delete The Naughty Corner.  Clean this place up.

I think a warning should have been issued.  The Covid19 thread had sadly become particulary nasty over the last few days.

Then again I don't expect Mr BBROWN to sit down and wade through all that crap.  So I don't blame him for just deleting the lot.
That brings into question whether a bike forum should have political threads.  As I have pointed out time and time again I don't start such threads (well I did start one once, but that's not bad considering my lengthy membership).  However I'm minded to express my own view point if others express politcal viewpoints I do not agree with, particulary so if I consider them unreasonable.

So no fair enougth BBROWN.  Personally, I feel consideration needs to be given to banning all politcs from the forum, or shoving such off topic matters down the bottom of the forum listing where it's not right under everybodies noses.  At the end of the day people don't join a bike forum to discuss politics.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a Ford dealer many years ago when i told them the hydraulic tappets needed adjusting.
Never heard of that.  I've heard of folks trying to prime them with oil.  But when I bust one, many years ago, and a follower, I don't remember setting up the tappet.  It was like a sealed unit.  Maybe there are different types.  And yes it rattled for a minute or so after start up.

Rather than just being a hard surface that resists external pressure, the material turns the force of the drill or cutting mechanism back on itself, as the ceramic spheres create vibrations that disrupt the external force. “It actually destroys the cutting blade through the sideways jerky vibrations that it creates,
Must be interesting manufacturing it if you can't cut it.
