Being lazy and leaving it to to others I feel its not my place to comment----------- but I will, i think the union flag in the background either needs to be droped from the design or it needs to be seen more as it just looks like some stripes around the edge.

If the key is badly worn I always thought that the barrel insides are also the same -- and sort of match each other so when you get a new key cut it has nice and sharp edges and so may not work. Or is that just stupid.

I always swap my keys around from time to time so that both keys and barrel wear the same, if I didnt then if i loose a very worn key then the unused spare wont work in the worn barrel --- do yo get me ??

I put the acf50 in a small perfume type bottle then leave the container in boiled water for about 5 minutes then it comes out like a very fine mist

Cover entire bike with it very easily and looks fantastic - no rags required
You have far too much time on your hands

And its a good job you do as that is a fantastic idea as I find it too thick to handle

Glasse are an arse indeed but at least I can ride with my visor open without risk of getting a pidgin in my eye

Another sneaky tax boost for the government then?
If you can only get a refund for unused whole months, every secondhand vehicle sold will be taxed twice in the month of sale.
Exactly what I was thinking

Sorry but I dont like the phrase "changing out" or swaped out as it is a stupid american thing along the lines of "can I get" er ---no its could I have
Anyway limax is right about the flat on the footrest boss that locates with a flat in the aluminium and it could be that its rounded a bit - but it would also have to be loose to spin. From memory thew alen bolt at the back is about 10mm - it is big I know that and has factory blue thread lock on it which makes for it very tight, I had to hold it in a vice to undo it when I polished up the gear change arm and stuff.

I think I was me that is to blame for sending this thread off in this poppy direction with my ring of red track remark, which I slightly regret now its gone off on one.
All I wanted was a ride around a track without paying for a track day !!!

I think the BBC are the worst for it as im sure that they have an whole army (pun) of poppyers whos sole job it is to make sure every single person appearing HAS to wear one.

My reason to sign would not be on the basis listed.
But my calling it that all they will be doing is providing a remet on which all manor of groups will justify a protest march on that day and smash our towns up.
Just like the Mayday ones.
Now if they were going to give us all an EXTRA bankholiday then I wouldnt care what they want to call it.

« on: 14 January 2014, 12:39:28 pm »
This was my stand before and after powdercoat, luckily I got it sorted before bad corrosion set in.
How much was the powdercaot.
And from the top looking down (bit we cant see in your pictures) is it hollow so we can get some sort of waxoil or acf50 down there to protect inside.
And is that spring new or cleaned up.
And how easy or not is the stand to get on and off.
I am so doing mine this year, I have kept it touched up and dont ride in the wet but its still going rusty.

Can we have a picture
Is it rusting from the inside or just outside, the reason I ask for extra info is the mine too is 15 years old and want to see exactly where yours went so I want to pay that area a bit of TLC on mine. Going to take it off and clean up and respray

I am reminded of that ring of red around the m25 --- that was never going to work and if it did it would never be seen from a helicopter high enough to get it all in.
Now if the same was done at a Race track with organised ride ins from all over like the Brackly air ambulance I think that would be a great success and being the great war anniversary this year also I think would work.
And then the picture from the helicopter could be sold to all of those taking part

Several helmets have cut away sections in the foam padding to accommodate glass arms.
Yep thats all well and good but if the arms are too long where they hook around your ear -- the sides are ok but the end of the arms hit the back of the helmet and then they dont sit right on your face

My biggy.
Friday 13th Sept 1999. Riding my Bandit (yes I know) back from badminton in the twilight. Pulled into the right filter lane ready to turn right into a side road. Suddenly headlights in my offside mirror, I'm being overtaken! Wallop, get hit at speed from behind, me and bike do somersaults. I land on the ground, bike lands next to me with a jet of oil coming out of the engine casing.
I crawl to the kerb, leg a bleeding mess but otherwise all in one piece. Bike in a terrible state. Traffic all stops and a police car pulls up to check I'm OK and tells me I've been hit by some joyriders being chased by the police.
So there I am sitting on the kerb with everybody fussing around me when I see a fat copper chasing two yoofs back my way. He can only catch one, so I cross the road and stand in the other one's way. I've still got my armoured jacket and gloves on. He tries a karate kick but his chin meets the front of my glove. Down he goes and I kneel on his back until the meat wagon arrives and they throw him in the back.
Result - Bandit written off, bruises and bleeding but compensation, 9 months at Her Majesty's pleasure for the perpetrator
Lessons learned - Sometimes there's just nothing you can do about it. Don't let the bastards get away with it. When your Bandit's written off, buy a Fazer  :)

Woww this tale is just a roller coaster --- being hit like that and then getting the oppo to punch one them in the face !!!. (if only every time you could)
So they had no insurance but were being chased) or followed as the police perfer to say ) how did you get a claim or whatever
Oh and I hope you wre comming from Badminton the place and not the game !!

I've never noticed how heavy mine is until someone commented how heavy it was and said "here heres mine" and yes mine is heavy (don't notice ) mind you I only weigh 9 1/2 stone and I think the heavy helmet is the only thing stopping me from being blown off the back !

« on: 12 January 2014, 07:43:06 pm »
I rang my insurer, just for a quote, to put my Fazer on the same policy as my blackbird... and was quoted cheaper than my current policy. So that's negative! Whoop whoop!  :D
Hmm I had to think about that for a while
What is going on here is I think your blackbird is near top price and so adding the lower cc fazer is going to reduce the amount of time you are on the blackbird.
Question
Would there be anything wrong if you brought a werck for £50 and sorn it (so no cost there ) just so you coud add it to your policy - after all you do own it and will be fully regestered to you.
OK you may just brake even this year but next and thereafter you will be better off

My mum remembered the V1 rockets flying over (doodlebugs) she said that it was fine as long as you could hear the engine put-putting because when it stopped -- thats when it came down
