FZS600 Fazer / Re: Bibes
« on: 21 December 2012, 06:25:54 am »
Hi there. It could be the front indicators. Give them a check with the bike stationary. Just hold them and check for 'up and down' movement. This is a common problem on MK1 fazer 600's due to the rubber seating gasket hardening off over time. Yamaha upgraded this part later on to eliminate the problem.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: lowering kit
« on: 18 December 2012, 07:48:02 am »
This sounds strange to me  :\  I am 5'11"- 6'0" which isn't a great deal taller than you and i have fitted a 'jack UP' kit to mine and can still get both feet to the floor albeit easier to just use one.

How long have you owned the bike? My point is you may have a 'jack up' kit already fitted and would be fine dropping down to standard height dogbones. I think that a 'lowering kit' can make the handling a bit wallowy and slow the steering down from what i have heard. Makes sense really as the 'jack up' kit sharpens things up so you would expect a lowering kit to do the opposite.

Have a check underneath at the dogbones and see what markings are on them.

probably the nipple top is not tight on the plug and not letting it seat fully.

Whatever you do, don't ride with a loose nipple top !

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: who has the LOWEST GEN1 mileage?
« on: 11 December 2012, 08:30:02 am »
Now why would anyone buy a mile-muncher like the Fazer & :eek NOT RIDE IT? :rolleyes

Well mines on 10,005 on an 02 plate and i thought that was low but some of the above are astounding. In answer to Dave48, I think life sometimes gets in the way of actually being able to go out and have a play. For me personally, i have never had to use a bike to get to work and i wouldn't want to. Who wants to go out and ride in the crappy weather we are having at the minute ? Its freezing, it's wet and the quality of car/lorry/bus drivers etc seems to be at an all time low. If thats your thing then fill your boots  ;)

When i occasionally get time off from work i don't always feel like going for a ride but its nice to know i have the option to if i want to. Besides (again, for me personally) i actually like having a pristine bike that will reach classic status one day and i get as much satisfaction just owning and cleaning it as i do riding it. The FZS1000 is without doubt one of the best motorbikes ever built. Seriously, i'm not just saying it because i have one. Those who have owned a number of different bikes will appreciate where i'm coming from  :D

FZS600 Fazer / Re: 600 vs 1000
« on: 22 October 2012, 08:16:26 am »
I know you obviously have more weight with the 1000 but i find mine a much easier bike to ride than my 600. Thats obviously due to the extra 50 odd bhp which allows you to be a bit lazier with the gearbox. I find the 600 a bit lacking in the power department personally which makes for a more hectic ride.

For Sale & Wanted / Fzs 600 Mk1 Engine Crash bars
« on: 09 October 2012, 06:49:28 am »
I have for sale a set of Engine Bars for a MK1 600 Fazer. They have been on a bike but are in good, clean, tidy condition with no rust or flaking paint. They come complete with all the associated fittings but unfortunately no instructions but are very simple to fit.

Looking for £30 plus postage or you can collect from Leicestershire if interested.
