I was and thats a big WAS toying with the idea of getting an adventure bike until I started looking to see what my bike is worth.I couldn't believe how much it has depreciated in less than a year! In march this year I bought my brand new FZ1-N which was listed in the showroom at £9999.00 The dealer came down to £9000 and we settled on a deal in which I part ex'd my 600 Fazer. If I wanted to sell the FZ1 privately according to Parkers Guide, I'm looking at £6300! And a dealer wasnt prepared to go much over £5,000! Thats an insult. Admittedly that was an 'over the phone book price' but even so, Ive only done 3300 miles and she's mint! Ive Just seen brand new FZ1-N's on ebay from Yamaha dealers at £7495. Gutted, I think I'll be hanging on to it for a good few years now.

Does anyone know of a good reputable Dyno Testing workshop in Kent/South East area so I can get my FZ1-N Dyno'd and set up?

My 2012 FZ1N feels like it needs more bottom end power. Dont get me wrong, it goes like s**t off a shovel, but still feels slightly bogged down from the lower end of the rev range. Engine mods so far are: Mivv Titanium end can, K&N air filter and Ivans Fuel Cut Eliminator. Is it worth getting it re-mapped, if so what do I need to do before hand if anything? Also how does the Power Commander work? Any advice or info greatly appreciated!

I'm in the process of fitting my Ivans Fuel Cut Eliminator, and the 3 wires coming from it for the sensor are red, black and blue. The wires on my bike are Pink with white stripe, Black with blue stripe and Blue. I'm assuming Blue to Blue, Pink with white stripe to Red, and Black with blue stripe to Black. Has any one wired theirs in that way? I have read the article on FCE Installation in the forum, but didn't see any mention of different coloured wires. Its a 2010 model FZ1N on a '12 plate.

My front pads are rattling around in the calipers on my 2012 FZ1N. Ive done 1800 miles and am using the bike for work everey day. When I go over a bump they rattle and clonk. If I take them out and copper grease the back and edges I'm hoping this will cure the problem. Its still under warranty at the moment so worse case it can go back. (I Don't really want the knobheads who did the 1st service and f***ed it up touching my bike really though!) I just wondered if anybody else has noticed this problem on their bike?

On my 2012 Gen2 FZ1N I'm getting a slight chattering noise when accelerating lightly from around 4000rpm up to around 6000. Its not loud but its making me aware that its there! Its in all gears and I've only just run it in currently sitting on just over 1000 miles. Do they all do this or is it something I need to take up with my dealer?

Ive just fitted a Mivv Titanium gp end can and link pipe to my 2011 FZ1N. The throttle is still slightly snatchy when throttling from off to on. Somebody mentioned an electronic box gizmo (not power commander) that you can plug in which is supposed to reduce this. Any recommendations as to which one and where to get one from??

I recently bought a FZ1-N on a 2012 plate, but the dealer said its a 2011 model. How can I tell for sure what year it was made? Someone mentioned its the 10th digit on the V.I.N number with 'A' being 2011, but the 10th digit on my V.I.N number is number '0'

Im looking at getting an aftermarket Scorpion can & link pipe for my 2011 FZ1-N but what do I do with the Exup valve and cables? Looking at the link pipe that comes with the new can, there is no way of connecting the Exup assembly to the new pipe. Or is there something I am missing????

What should the model code be for a 2011 Gen2 FZ1? Is there a list from, say 2006 to 2012? Im looking at getting a 2011 model FZ1-N on a 2012 plate but want to make sure its not an even older stock model.

At the weekend I had the misfortune of taking a FZ8-N out for a test ride and was somewhat disappointed to say the least. 3 years ago I owned a 54' plate Fazer 1000 which I had Ivans kitted and it was great. Anyway I moved on to other bikes (Speed Triple, Bandit, Harley) but I have a test ride booked on a FZ1-N this coming weekend. Is it massively different to a Fazer thou? (I mean in terms of riding, handling etc, obviously the lack of fairing will make a difference) How do they compare power delivery wise? Personally I think the FZ1 looks absoulutely awesome, I hope it has the power/rideability to match!

Well, after a week of anticipation and exitement at the thought of getting a new FZ8, unfortunately it didn't happen. I had put a returnable deposit on the last blue FZ8-N to hold it until I had test ridden it. I covered motorways, twisties and town work but when I got off, and thought about the ride, I've got to say it was really quite an anti climax. Dont get me wrong, I wrang its neck in certain places where I could, and it was quite quick too, handled ok and was fairly comfortable but it just lacked something. I didn't get that big silly grin that I normally get after a good blat. The difference between the FZ8 and my little FZS600 is, in my opinion not worth the extra money each month. And for those reasons I will not be parting with any cash. However, I am booked up for a test ride on the FZ1-N next weekend and am looking forward to that, I hope I get the grin factor this time around.
