I am in the process of fitting an R1 front end and the bottom yoke plate(?) which holds the lower clamps is touching the edge of the fairing. Is this usual and di you just grind away a little of the fairing? It is out of the way and can't be seen. Thanks

Never had any clearance issues with the R1 front ends I've fitted, Shaun. What model year forks are you using?

Hi Mike, I am using 1998 - 2002? Its not a serious clash but the lower clamp does rub on the bottom of the fairing. All brackets etc. are straight. It's very strange.

Mine was tight but has about 10mm gap from memory

Mine rubbed a little bit this was due to the front fairing brackets being slightly bent from a drop. Readjusted then and it’s tight but doesn’t rub now.

Could be that we are using different spacer/steering stem options, mate. Mine was a lot lower at the front and possibly that put the bottom yoke well inside the fairing.

I’ve put the 2002 5PW front end on mine, no clearance issues at all.
