Know your pain. Couldn't find one here in the North so I had to go to Scotland for a 08 model( black) 11000 miles for £3600. Worth the trip. Find one on the mainland guy and go for it!

Thanks for the essay. Your plod are obviously more relaxed than our cops here but it's still a MOT failure as far as our Government run system goes which basically boils down to no two Police Forces are the same. Maybe I should have made it clear that I'm on the opposite side of the Irish Channel

HID's are illegal on any vehicle unless they are self levelling. Instant fail for MOT and fixed penalty from the long arm of the law. Been there, done it and paid the fine!!

Has anyone fitted iridium plugs to their Gen 2? Do they make any difference? Double the price of standards but if I knew they were gonna be better I'd bite the bullet and purchase.

Has anybody tried or uses one of the 90 degree extensions on their front wheel?
I have a Gen 2 and have real problems getting either the air line or the pressure gauge on. I would prefer if I could let it stay on permanently rather than one which is just used for inflation.
Any help much appreciated

Thanks guys. I'll maybe just do that. Try the pipe now and wait till winter when bikes off the road to attempt removal of whole system

Has anybody fitted these AIS block off plates? Are they any good? Does it get rid of the popping on closed throttle? Are they hard to fit? And finally, does the Ivan's kit come with or need any device to eliminate a fault code appearing once the air pump is removed.
Thanks for any forth coming advice

I've been using PR3/4's on my last couple of bikes but when I picked up my FZ1 it had an almost new set of Pirelli Angel GT's which in the 2-3 hundred miles I've done I really rate them much to the glee of my mate who runs them on his Multistrada and swears by them

Thanks for the welcome guys even if I'm not sure of the mature tag lol. Will surely post a couple of photos but only when I get it built back together!! When I picked up the bike I would have described it as 'clean' but being OCD I will have it as near mint before I let it in front of a lens.
I'm also doing a few mods straight away.
Will be back shortly!!!

Hi guys, just signed up to the forum as I picked up a 08 FZ1 on Friday. Flew over to Glasgow to have a look and brought it home with me! Have had quite a few bikes over my 30+ years of riding including 2 R1's but always hankered after the more comfortable version!
Bike was bog standard cept a MIVV can. Time to start modifying!!!!
Looking forward to finding out little gems of info.
