As the header. Another step to the government allowing to close roads for motorsport as I assume in the IOM and Ireland.

Hope the link works.

Fazer 400 and other models / Alternator swap 1998 model
« on: 10 June 2014, 05:59:18 pm »
Hi folks, having sorted my headlights, Fazer400, I put my multi meter on and noticed the charge was 14.5v at approx 3000 rpm.
Looking through the Haynes the 98 model is rated at 12v.
Is it a straight swap to do from a 2002/3 model as that would seem to be the only solution?
Cheers

FZS600 Fazer / Headlights FZS
« on: 29 May 2014, 07:17:02 pm »
Hi folks, Are there any helpfull sparkies that can advise please? I have FZS 400 headlights on my 600 boxeye and both dip beams come on together. When going full beam all 4 filaments are on. The only worry is the loading on the wiring. Can anyone help in a wiring diagram or suggestions as to how to modify the wiring so that both dip are on together and both full beam are on together?

FZS600 Fazer / Clocks
« on: 04 April 2014, 08:42:48 pm »
Hi folks,
some may know my problem with the speedo, well Yam dealer local says clock face has been changed thereby odo and trip are KPH but speedo is roughly ok as determined also by satnav.
Can anyone advise whether 2001 on clocks (2 button type) are direct fit?
 Cheers

General / Speedo sensor
« on: 31 March 2014, 02:53:56 pm »
Can any one advise please? I went for a bimble today to settle in some new tyres and worked a route on Google of 48m. when I got back speedo trip read 73m.
Is there a different sensor for kmh and mph? Speedo is definitely showing mph with kph inside ring. One of the lugs is broken on the sensor but cannot see that making such a difference.
Tyres are correct size ie 110/70/17 brand new so in effect will give more accurate reading than worn ones.

 Any ideas anyone please?

 Thanks
 Barrie

General / m/c race marshals north west mainly
« on: 17 November 2013, 03:34:53 pm »
Hi all, Some may know that I attend mainly Aintree and 3 Sisters Wigan Oulton Park as a race marshal, you know the ones in silly orange overalls.
Thing is that we could always do with more volunteers to help out. No real experience needed as we will always put you with seasoned marshals and advise you, enthusiasm is more a necessity.
There are no more meetings this year but start again in May for Aintree.
A site to look at is :   http://www.marshalsnorthwest.co.uk/  this also leads to other sites.
There are usually training days held locally in Feb if anyone fancies that but not compulsory although helpful.
I am sure other areas need marshals also in fact I was invited to marshal at this years moto gp Silverstone but some experience is needed for that.
Anyone interested can reply here or p/m me.
Barrie :)

General / front forks chatter?
« on: 12 October 2013, 08:27:40 pm »
Help please/ I went to Glasson today and met a few fellow foccers. Great ride and people but noticed from the forks, over broken tarmac (read holes) although shallow the forks seemed to chatter. That I am afraid is the only way to describe it.It seems to bang at the extent of the forks. I am only lightweight and don't think think the springing is light but was wondering if it could be the oil? not sure what is in as only just got the bike. Would it be best to go standard or what would anyone care to recommend please.
Many thanks Barrie

Your Suggestions and How you can help / unread posts
« on: 10 October 2013, 03:46:35 pm »
Would it be possible to have at the top of each topic a click box 'view first unread posts' ie if you have read a topic up to date and you go on the same topic next day you can click the tab and it takes you to the first unread posting (as in the box)
I know they have that on the Passion Ford and VFR sites but dependent upon how a site is configured I suppose?
It saves you going through all the post each time.
Cheers Barrie

General / Anyone know this bike?
« on: 05 October 2013, 11:21:50 am »
Hi, Just got this Fazer on Tuesday. Does anybody recognize it? Was jacked up at rear with red links and had wood on the bottom of the stand. No centre stand.Looks great for its age, possibly restored to some degree.Think it came from n/east and was p/x in Blackpool.
Would love some info to go with it.
