Which model bike do you have?

For the FZS600, it is a simple check. Just read this

What exactly is the rev counter saying?

I have a gen 1 I think it is. 99 or 2000. I have tried the disconnect but it does not do anything. I have a 0 rev to 3k rev. It does this after i disconnect and connect

Bouncing between 0rpm to 3000rpm means it's either unplugged or completely knackered.

It may have been dodgy for a while as they normally play up and break down gradually, but unless you checked it you may not have realized.
The bike normally feels jerky below 3000rpm so you'd need more use of the clutch, and it would generally not feel or sound right.

Don't buy a used one from Ebay, because you will just get the same issue again further down the line.

That's great. Thanks for letting me know.
Will grab it and set it up using that guide of 5k revs.

If it has been breaking down over a while then when you replace the TPS the bike will feel A LOT better to ride.

So I have put a new tps on and set it to 5k revs on diagnostic made.
The ride after that was... wow...
Slow speeds and starting to accelerate from stopwas so smooth

I had 3 fail on me, as i bought used ones, and as you will now know the difference is huge, but it also gave me the knowledge of knowing the signs when they were misbehaving which is why i just tell people to buy new and be done with it.

If you were to have the carbs balanced as well it would feel even more smoother, it really does make a big difference if it's not been done for a long time.
