Thanks guys

Way to big for an innertube Don, each link is around 3 inches wide and 4 inches long but thanks for the suggestion

And I never thought if looking at sailing equipment, living near a major dock yard might come in handy for a change haha I'll pop down there tomorrow and see what I can find
Try motorcross innertubes

Took mine in this morning for new front wheel bearings, 48 quid fitted. Just had a phone
call, looks like the garage that fitted my front tyre has overtightened the caliper bolts and fucked the threads  up, another  60 quid  to fix it.  :wall

Anyone know if theres a way to stop the parking light coming on? Left mine on by accident this morning, had to bump it when I finished work

changed  the broken speedo drive sensor. Easy enough job, apart from the paddock stand collapsing and tipping the bike over as I took the front wheel out. Luckily managed to hold it, and the only damage was a scratched top box.

Tonights beer - Lost Souls by Abbeydale Brewery, a 10% russian imperial stout. I dont know how far from Sheffield this gets distributed, but if you like strong, dark beers and you see it in your local bottle shop, buy one. I promise you wont be disappointed.

Wow iamthearrison what a concoction that is -- sounds nice though

It was absolutely stunning. Tastes like a black forest gateux in a glass. Not cheap at 14 quid for a 750ml bottle, but no more than youd pay for a decent bottle of wine, and far nicer IMO

Sorted. Looks like the 5w filament has blown in one of them. Looked alright in the dark last night, but multimeter this morning says its not. Thought I had a spare but cant find it, Ill call and get a couple on my way home tomorrow

cloudwater

Got one of these in the fridge Im going to crack open tonight. Cloudwater/Lervig 12% imperial chocolate stout with sour cherry juice, aged for 12 months in bourbon casks. Bought it to drink on Christmas day, but was bunged up with flu and wouldnt have been able to taste it, so held it back.

Should be 2x Stop/Tail Bulb 12v 21/5w double filament, make sure pins on bulbs are not offset.

Both bulbs should come on, with lights & the other filaments when brakes applied.

Theyre both twin filament, but surely that means the pins have to be offset, otherwise how would you differentiate the supply to either filament? And mine come on one at a time (looking from the seat towards the back of the bike, left hand bulb 5w is lit, then goes off and 25w right hand bulb lights up when the brakes are used). Ill have a proper look tomorrow when its light, but neither bulb is blown

A mate at work pointed out yesterday that only 1 of the bulbs in my tail light was on. Having taken them out to check them today, it seems theyre both twin filament bulbs, but, like the headlights, only use 1 filament on either bulb (so the 5w is on on one of them as a tail light, and the 25w comes on on the other when you pull the brakes). Is that normal, and if so, is there a known mod to use both filaments on both bulbs, like there is on the headlight?

Followed a silver foxeye from abbey lane to meadowhead roundabout in Sheffield this afternoon. Also seen 2 more gold and black boxeyes recently - 1 pulled alongside me on Bocking lane, and the other was parked in queens road Halfords

Started with scooters, a Yamaha Cygnus 125

That got nicked, so I replaced it with a Piaggio B125

Being Italian, it eventually fell to bits, so I scrapped it and bought a Honda CBF125

Then passed my test and bought a Honda CB500s

Rode the wheels off it, until it came to a point where I was fed up of fixing things on it, and it was costing me more than it was worth, so sold it and bought my current boxeye Fazer 600

Took mine off today, havent had chance to ride it without yet, but Im 6' 2" and feel a bit cramped on it with them fitted. Only had mild steel at work, so bought some off Ebay, 5x m8x30 stainless cap heads, £1.29 with free postage.

Another vote here for Delkevic - mine had the downpipes and stubby can fitted when I bought it, cant fault them. Had a Fuel silencer on my old CB500, another really well made bit of kit. Think I read somewhere that Black Widow downpipes have a tighter bend in them, and it makes getting the oil filter off difficult, but I could be mistaken

FZS600 Fazer / Handlebar clamp bolts
« on: 27 April 2017, 05:27:23 pm »
My bike came with bar risers fitted, and I want to try it without them, but the clamp bolts are too long. Anyone know the length of the standard bolts, or can take one out and measure it, so I can either borrow a few from work or buy some?

Dont waste your time and money on the gt moto ones from Halfords. I bought one, installed it accordin to the instructions, and it was peeling off within 24 hours.

Not today, but Monday. Pulled into Halfords car park (Queens Road Sheffield), noticed another bike there so parked next to it. Turned out to be my bikes twin - another 2001 gold, black and silver boxeye. Had a few more bits than mine (crash bars, heated grips, scottoiler) but was the same other than that. Talked to the owner, said hed got a BMW as well, but hardly used it as he preferred the Fazer.

Hope nobody's waiting on delivery of an exhaust from motad, looks like they've shut up shop. No mention of what's happening with existing orders.

Shame, they've been around for a long time.

just had a run in with a prick in a landrover. Id called at the vet for some antibiotics for my cat on the way home from work, parked the bike on a sidestreet. When I came out a 66 plate landrover evoque was sitting by the side of the bike blocking it in, driver still sat in it. Conversation went something like this:

Him - Are you going?
Me - Once ive got my gear on, yeah.
Him - Good, I want that parking space
Me - Well, let me get my helmet on and move your car so I can get out, and you can have it (puts helmet on)
Him - You shouldnt be parked there anyway
Me - Sorry?
Him - You shouldnt be parked there, its a car space
Me - No, its a parking space. Ive as much right to it as anyone
Him - You should have parked on the pavement and left space for a car
Me - Id get a ticket for that (takes helmet off and sits it on the tank)
Him - I thought you said you were going
Me - I was, now Im not. Fuck off and park somewhere else
Him - No need to be like that
Me - Theres every fucking need to be like that, you self entitled prick. Im going nowhere

and with that he drove off as fast as his chelsea tractor would let him, beeping his horn. Twat.
