I put a pair of Michelin pilot 3's on my Gen 1 in April replacing the metzerler front and bridgestone rear combo that I had on and the difference was massive. It's like a different bike now, lovely feel and grip and not a ridiculous price either. Thumbs up.

Have you come to any decisions regarding the tyres yet or have I just not seen it on here ?

As long as your not looking to take the bike to extremes the Michelin pilot road 3 sd2's on mine have transformed the bikes handling without the need to buy expensive and unnecessary exotic race rubber. A tyre for all seasons, wet weather grip is excellent. what else does one need ?

The old fazer is a better bike by a long way, not faster, just better.

Shoei, light, not ridiculously expensive, comfy, looks good, quiet. Everything a lid should be in my book.

Some twat in a van side swiped me and the mrs today in Bristol, broke my indicator and cracked the fairing, the asshole didn't even stop. I should thank the fairies that I managed to stay on the bike and apart from a bruise or 2 we both got off pretty lightly. Still makes you bloody angry tho.

According to the logbook mine was first registered on 05-03-2001 and has less than 8k on the clock but I have to admit I am not the original owner but owner number two. I bought the bike ( Sidney, yes I decided he's a boy) a month ago and I am loving owning and riding a Gen 1 1000 after owning and still riding an old carb FZS 600 for 8 years. Do I win a cookie ?

Hello guys and gals, another newbie from Swansea here, I have a fazer 600 2000 model and have owned her for 8 years ( my baby ), I have just bought her a boyfriend, a splendid 2001 fazer 1000. I also have an old fsr 600 that has been rusting in my back garden for 4 years that I really should do something with. God bless the mrs for putting up with me. Hope to get to know you and hopefully meet some of you. Happy riding.
