Givi Monokey Rack Fitting
« on: 27 July 2013, 01:04:19 am »
Hi Folks,

Does the same Givi rack fit all FZS models (years) or are they different for Boxeye/Foxeye?

Thanks, Andy

Hi All,

Another quick question about fitting givi rack if I may.

The installation manual shows a metal support attached to rear sub-frame (item 2, shown in picture A):

http://www.givi.co.uk/attachfile/content/prodotti_regionali_uk/20851/0.0.1.man_340f.pdf

Is that part of the bike, or should it be supplied with the rack?

Also do you know if it requires additional bolts or uses only the bikes own bolts?

Thanks, Andy

What your seeing is the support for the arms of the rack its not part of the bike. The rack comes with its own fitting kit. Bolts are generally longer

Sounds like you've bought the arms without the fitting kit!

You've not got it yet?
Well did you buy it as a specific listing for the fzs600, if so it would come with the fitting kit!

Hi,

I bought this on ebay as it seemed like a good deal and I wanted to snap it up (been after hard luggage for ages but on a budget):

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151089823402

I'm in touch with the seller to clarify what's included, he seems reasonable and a nice bloke so we'll see how it works out.

I guess I could probably source thew bolts myself, it's just that support bracket would be hard to fabricate or source individually?

Andy

Photo shows the mounting brackets attached so you should be fine, good thing with downloading those instructions is they list the size of bolts required if they don't come with it.

Just remember even tough this is a specific rack for hard luiggage don't overload it, they still have weight limits!

Just to note: this kit does fit square and fox eye models, but uses different mounting bolts etc. All are supplied in the box from new, but if it's off one style, the other style bolts may have been lost.
