Coolant leak from the thermostat
« on: 13 July 2013, 02:55:34 pm »
I found that i have coolant leaking from the thermostat.
Coolant leaking exactly from the under bolt that hold the the thermostat housing.
So anyone had the same problem?
My mind goes to the o-ring between those parts...but where i can find one....

I think I ended up just replacing the entire thermostat when mine was leaking. Got a second hand one from fleaBay for about £6

Does anyone knows what's the diameter of the housing o-ring between the 2 parts of the thermostat on a 99 FZS600?

Don't think I made a note of the size when I replaced mine but part number 93210-49046-00 and cost under £5 from yamaha dealer.

If you don't want to go to Yamaha dealer or it's on back order you can split the thermostat housing to check the size with bike on sidestand and only lose a cup full of coolant
