2 weeks
« on: 14 June 2013, 03:53:52 pm »
well , finally found a fazer i liked at the right money , had it for 2 weeks and got rear ended and thumped off it while stationary at a round about . the little old lady pressed the accelerator instead of the brake while approaching the round about and hit me with enough force to knock me 30 feet across the road ,police and paramedics attended , went to hospital ,  the bikes a mess and the insurance have collected it and dropped off a nice cbf 1000 in its place . i really like it and now have a dilemma ..... fazer or cbf as a replacement .

Holy shit dude that's just really unlucky, and there's bugger all you could have done to avoid it too! Hope your not too busted up!
Fazer or cbf......... Hmmm, I'm sure there's someone on here that's had one of them there H##da thingys. You'll regret changing to a cbf, its too clinical as are most Honda's. I've ridden loads of them, new and old, seemingly all appear lacking in character one way or the other. Your choice, but as you know, the 600 fazer does EVERYTHING to 90%. No other bike I've ever ridden out there can do that.
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

Had mine 4 hours and out for my first ride when someone driving a low loader with a BMW on the back reversed into me at the lights.  Broken mudguard and a bruised ego but could've been much worse.  That was my first harsh lesson of not stopping where you can't see the driver in their mirrors!
I can't speak for any other bikes but I frickin' well love my 600...can't see me getting anything else in a hurry.

You've not been on a fzs1000 then.  110%

never ridden a gen 2 myself but sat on one
I'm no lightweight but I felt like I was sitting on a kids tricycle !

At least the gen 1 feels like your sitting on a proper motorbike rather than a Power Rangers toy plastic bike !

I blame the BMW......they're always involved somehow!

no , not been on a fazer 1000 . got a few other options im thinking about , the honda is a really  ice bike , loads of torque and everything feels well screwed together , as comfort is sort top of the list im going to look at a triumph tiger as well

Had a tiger 1050 for 3 months and sold it again. Bought another fazer.
The 1050 is a lovely comfy bike, but you HAVE to spend money on the suspension to get it to go round corners at any decent speed, mine pushed wide!! Engines a gem though, especially when its tuned up for practically nothing!

Yet again, the big fazer wins! (regardless of generation)::)
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

My next bike would be the 1000 fazer. But the cbf1000 Honda I would like as well. All depends on what you want there is a big difference in the power between the Honda and Yamaha.

right , sitting here fuming , the insurance have writen my bike off and offered me £400 less than what i paid for it 2 weeks previous. its so wrong that they expect me take take a loss for something that wasnt even my fault , im fast loosing faith in why i pay all this money for insurance when its obvious that no one is looking out for your best interests .
