something odd going on ?

each time i try to get onto the site I am timing out a few times then I can get on or I get this message ?
 Connection Problems      Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database.  This may be caused by the server being busy.  Please try again later.
 
 its all french to me ? any ideas ?

Opinions are like A**holes, Everyone has one.  Some people seem to have more than one though which is a bit odd.

Cheers simonm I always check other post first but the thread title Performance fooled me !
 
I posted this last night but it seems not to have gone one  the first time !
