Put the front and rear wheels back on the bike with the new tyres on, rear brake to refit, hugger to refit, still waiting delivery of the inlet rubbers from Yamaha Europe

Spoken to thew parts supplier again today, inlet rubbers wont be here from Japan before 30th April, trackday booked at Donny for the 29th. So, set to re-fitting the old ones, one of which I suspect was not sealing properly, ,leading to hesitancy at low throttle. Thoroughly cleaned them, and straightened out as best I could the old clamp bands, all refitted now, and balanced up. Ill give it a blast out tomorrow. In hindsight, I think I may have overtightened the bands and distorted them last time I had them off, which may have allowed the rubbers to slip on the bodies neck inlet. If all is good, then its oil change, brake bleed, fairings on and then check to see if my leathers have shrunk over winter

So, after being told the parts wouldnt be here until the 30th, I set to and refitted the old ones, took it out for a blast and it seems fine now, so one of the rubbers must have been passing slightly, as I thought. Most annoying though, to receive a text message as I was starting the bike up saying that the parts will be delivered tomorrow (10th). The old ones can stay on now.

Fitted a replacement exhaust hanger from the good people at Beowulf, who sent it without asking questions - tremendous customer service.
The original had sheared through the hole where the bolt passes through.
Then, oil & filter change, followed by strip, clean, grease of the front brake pistons and new pads fitted.

Then, fitted the mirror extenders I bought off nickodemon (thanks again mate) and they are indeed a good improvement on standard setup, as he said.

Then took the mighty thou down to Thunder Road Cwmbran where I bought a pair of shorty distressed brown leather RST TT Crosby boots, a pair of RST Aramid Metro biking jeans and a beautiful cognac coloured Richa Hawker leather jacket.

On from there to Steel Horse Cafe just outside Abergavenny for a coffee and bacon sarnie.

A helluva great day!!

A couple of photos from today's visit to Steel Horse Cafe.
I'll post a third one of a newbie owner's blue FZS 1000 in a separate post.

A ride to Bala on the FZS 600 to my friends house. Returned home on his FZ6. He's working all week and the MOT on his bike runs out on Friday, so I'm taking it for one tomorrow, then returning it to him. Very heavy holiday traffic.  On arriving home I learned that a fellow biker had lost his life this morning on the A5 Padog bends near Betws y Coed following a crash involving a Volkswagen Sharan and a Honda motorcycle. Desperately sad news. My heart goes out to his family.

Fitted a new set of plugs as the bike was missing sometimes at low revs after being laid up for the winter, phoned the dealer and was quoted £38 a set, phoned euro car parts, 200 yards from the dealer, and got them for £22.40 a set a decent saving.

Made a new numberplate/indicator bracket after the epic fail of the last one on the egg run a few Sundays back. Undertrays are cool, but need some fabricating where indicators and numberplates are concerned. New rear pads to go on tomorrow. Should be ready for a whizz out on Sunday.

Well, Tuesday actually. Apologies. Too tired to do much yesterday. Donington Park, unrestricted noise noise day. Pretty much full up. 99% track and race bikes I reckon. And me on the humble fazer. More room on the track for the late sessions in the afternoon, maybe only a dozen or so for the last one, bags of room. Lovely day out. Back again at the end of April, going to try the Inters.

Up early and took the 6 for a blast to a new diy garage , TWISTED IRON in dorchester upon thames , aimed at the harley  rider , rode with a MT09 ,600 hornet and a fat boy , fat boy is for sale so parked it up with a sign on it and enjoyed a couple of cuppas in the sun , an 03 bike with only 5000 miles on it, asking 10,000 , not a harley fan so dont know if thats good or not , what I do know is they have terrable ground clearence on the bends  :eek  1400cc V's 600 on A roads and twisty B's , there was only going to be one winner  ;)      :lol

stopped a H's cafe on the way home and spotted this KH 400 with a new set of allspeeds , sounds much nicer than a fat boy   :thumbup

Yesterday, actually. I took the ' winter ' Fazer to Barrie Walters of Premier Motorcycle Care, Whitchurch, Shropshire, for a treatment of ACF 50. Takes around two hours. Wash , shampoo , rinse , dry , apply ACF 50 , final wipe down. Protected as much as possible for the next 12 months. Taking my other Fazers there in the next few months. Barrie is a top man. Founder of Raven Riders Motorcycle Club, Raven Cafe, Prees Heath, Shropshire.

Thats pretty much how I do mine 3 or 4 times a year. I apply the ACF50 with a low pressure gun around 5psi, no more. or a lot of it just goes to atmosphere. I really rate the stuff, super at renovating bumpers on motor cars too

Looks good, but have never been a fan of jet washing bikes,I used to do car valeting a few years back and the problems we got through steam cleaning engines were horrendous, sometimes when you finally got 'em running as they warmed up you'd get condensation and moisture in all kinds of nooks and crannies,it's a bit different with bikes I know but just not for me.I do rate ACF50 though, cracking stuff. :)

I agree totally regarding jet washing motorbikes and just use a hosepipe at home. Barrie was using the jet at a low setting and was very careful and was fully aware of the dangers, having done hundreds of bikes. He said that in the wrong hands, ( mine ! ), it is not a good idea and that a hosepipe should be used.  After two winters of use the underside of the bike was absolutely filthy and needed some assistance to move the crud. I have been using ACF50 for years and all my bikes are treated. As you say, coffee, it's cracking stuff and really does what it says on the tin, which is needed here in North Wales, as at the slightest hint of freezing conditions the salt is laid down.
What type/make of high pressure gun do you use, agricola ? I would consider doing as you do in future.
