OGRI : Heres a bad memory for you, wet 4" clinker breeze on a cold winters days wearing your finder tips out till they bled. Only being able to lay 3 courses of the ba**ards before they wagged about, while being payed by the yd. Dam going to have to go for a lie down and a couple of aspirin till the thought wears off  lol

A follow up to my previous post:

After running out of daylight yesterday, I got back to reassembling my bike although getting the airbox back on was a nuisance until I undid all the collars that secure the rubbers to the throttle bodies and smeared them with some red rubber grease.

In any case, I'm glad I did the change because the clutch is *so* much smoother and easy to use now :thumbup

We were paid by the yard but the site agent measured by the metres, yep thieving t**t.  when I started my apprentice ship was either the first or second year we had gone metric. Metric was great easy to work areas and volume out bo**cks to yards, feet, and inches.

Put the front and rear wheels back on the bike with the new tyres on, rear brake to refit, hugger to refit, still waiting delivery of the inlet rubbers from Yamaha Europe

Yes, he did. He hung there limply for two hours, pretending to be dead, before the Germans took him prisoner. The dummy is not hanging on the side of the church that he landed on. It used to be on the correct side but it caused traffic problems due to people viewing it, so they moved it.

If I remember correctly, on each corner of that town square there's a wartime photo of the view that you're looking at from that corner. A "now and then" kind of thing.

Fitted some Fazer Thou mirrors to my 600, also a Fazer Thou alloy rear brake lever. Just had to space out the rear master cylinder a few mm to straighten out the bar to the lever a little.

Did Omaha beach a few years ago and as you say found it to be an amazing place, well worth the visit.
The poor guys landing on the beach were sitting ducks to the German machine guns.
Did you get to visit the museum?

A ride to the Hednesford Motorcycle Club and MZ Owners Club gathering  in Hednesford, Staffs. 128 mile round trip. Food and drink available, good turnout. Nice FZS 600 there.

Just got back from a 4-day trip to Normandy with OGRI48 (Paul).
A fab trip with great company and somewhere I would definitely recommend you visit.
Photos are Omaha Beach, which has a great museum and a nearby cafe with good coffee, and Le Mont St Michel, which is a town with a large cathedral all built on a rock out at sea - amazing!!
Take a deep breath, coz it all starts now, when you pull the foccin' pin

Spoken to thew parts supplier again today, inlet rubbers wont be here from Japan before 30th April, trackday booked at Donny for the 29th. So, set to re-fitting the old ones, one of which I suspect was not sealing properly, ,leading to hesitancy at low throttle. Thoroughly cleaned them, and straightened out as best I could the old clamp bands, all refitted now, and balanced up. Ill give it a blast out tomorrow. In hindsight, I think I may have overtightened the bands and distorted them last time I had them off, which may have allowed the rubbers to slip on the bodies neck inlet. If all is good, then its oil change, brake bleed, fairings on and then check to see if my leathers have shrunk over winter
