Fitted my some Oxford L.E.D turn signals today. After much pissing about with resistors and stupid Yamaha connections I finally got them working but then to my dismay realised they don't fit without some kind of spacer/blanking plate?
I've used the stock bases for now but looks awful. The back will need something similar too,
Does anyone know what I'm looking for?
Yep. You need these. I bought these for my 2008 Gen 2 a couple of years ago. Got mine from M&P's though, not this American site and they were cheaper. Maybe contact Oxford direct and find out where your local dealer is.  https://www.motosport.com/oxford-indicator-spacers?mmy=yamaha%3Bfzs1000%3B2008&mmy_source=pdp

I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

I fitted a Tutoro chain oiler on the 'winter' 600 this morning. At dinnertime I went for a 20 mile spin to check the flow rate. I had to decrease it a bit. Started raining half an hour after I got back. I shall tidy the zip ties up in the morning and, weather permitting, go for a longer ride to fine tune it..

I fitted a Tutoro today too as it happens. I didn't check on here to see how anybody else had done it before so my route is a bit tighter than Anquetil's one.

Seems to flow just fine though, I'm working all weekend so will see how it holds up on the commute!

Hi Lew. I have done a few hundred miles since fitting it and I am delighted with the results. Yesterday, I was out in the rain and mud covered roads for 90 miles and the chain was lubricated and clean when I got home. I bought an oiler as I was getting through a chain and sprockets in about 12000 miles, probably not helped by riding every winter in all the salt and crap. My mate has an oiler fitted and he is on 38000 miles, and his transmission is still in good order. This prompted me to fit one. I take your point about the excess plastic piping. First one I have ever fitted. I wasn't sure where to route it. I used to lubricate my chains in the tin of heated grease many years ago !

That is much neater than my routing effort, mountaingoat. I shall have to have a rethink.

I fitted a Scottoiler inside the left hand tail fairing and fed the delivery tube down the right hand side, crossing over the front of the swingarm pivot then under the left side of the arm. Aside from a couple of tiewraps it’s scarcely visible. The oiler reservoir itself isn’t vertical, but that hasn’t been a problem.
The Tutoro’s shape is obviously a bit different, but it might be possible to site it in the same place.

Nice pics Anquetil and lovely weather!

Took my bike out for an hour or so this morning. Not sunny up here but dry and cold so not wet roads to speak of so bike was still clean after 40 odd miles. Love the way my Fazer simply starts up after a few weeks of non-use and settles into an even tickover ready for the off without any drama. Quick check of chain slack, tyre pressures and oil level and we're ready.

Decided to finally bleed my rear brake... Found an old bottle of "turtle wax" while looking for my bleed kit so gave it a wash and wax, then clocked a really old bottle of brasso polish so did the silencer! Proper shiney...
Intentionally left blank

Fitted a fender extender (hopefully it'll keep a lot of muck of the engine and down pipes), cleaned the chain + sprockets of old chain lube and muck, gave her a good all over wash, re lubed the chain (without getting the lube all over the place), cleaned + lubed the clutch cable (much smoother now), took some slack out of the throttle cable after adjusting the grip position and made note of a few rust spots that need treating when I get a bit of time and some paint... maybe next wk end if nothing else gets in the way.

But did you get around to bleeding that brake?

Yeah, of course the little bolt holding the reservoir to its thin plastic hanger had seized so had to drill that out...

Installed my new rear L.E.D turn signals and finally wired the tail light indicators in. It's very obvious that I'm indicating now 🤗

Acquired and fitted a genuine Yamaha belly pan. Makes it look sooo much beter imo. Takes away the skinnyness of the front end. Looks like a real muscle bike now haha
Just the rearsets to go now

Noticed one of the front calipers was binding on the disc, whipped them both off, tooth brush, brake cleaner & red rubber grease. Sorted.

Ran it out of fuel (again).
I was wondering why the bike was vibrating as if the road surface was rippled and after a moment, the penny dropped and I realised I’d last filled up 236 miles ago. Fortunately this happened at the end of the M4 and by shaking the bike side to side when moving, and back and forth while stopped at traffic lights, I was able to make use of the “reserve” and reached the petrol station on Goldhawk Road some 4 miles on.
Anyone behind must have wondered what was going on, but at least I didn’t have to push the bugger. :lol
